The FISA court judges are appointed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

Ah, Vet, I assume that label doesn't refer to US Military veteran. You have not read the most voluable documnent ever written for civilization. Our Constitution demands such protection for its citizens.The second amendment protects your privacy and a judge must be convinced the police have reason to snoop into your affairs . If someone here in the US is acting against our country on behalf of another country, a judge must be shown proof that the offender's phone can be tapped. That judge sits on the FISA court. Elite or worker, the law is equal.

FISA was instituted to circumvent The Constitution. Everyone, not just citizens deserves constitutional protections. The search warrant protections were so watered won to begin with. I want no further weakening.
For years, it's been known that cops go to friendly judges for search warrants and don't avoid unfriendly ones.
Have you ever faced a search warrant? I have. It was based upon & only upon the sworn testimony by a known pedophile and cocaine addict before a grand jury that I committed insurance fraud. I was charged with insurance fraud over a case that brought me $235. The attorney alone cost me ten thousand dollars.
Have you ever hard of indicting a ham sandwich? The grand jury system is a one man show by the prosecution where the accused only in rare cases has representation.
