A little sulfur, some charcoal, ammonium nitrate and bingo bango bongo and you've got black powder. Smokeless is almost as easy. I have a how to book from 1910 that has three formulas for smokeless. One uses sugar.....

How many school-shootings in January alone? That's okay? Hey, it's just an unfortunate consequence of my obsession with freedom, my 2nd Amendment rights? How many accidental shootings where children are killed? Why not just a national law mandating basic safety measures and consequences for their violation? Twenty-six states do not even care if you know how to shoot or have safety rules for ownership. At least that one concession would save hundreds of lives each year and thousands of injuries. It is stupid not to make this universal. There is no violation of freedom, only a protection for users of that freedom.

Is gun control STILL and issue?? Really? I never met a gun that killed.

I am very compassionate about my responsibilities as an Armed American, I always apply common sense and my situational awareness is at Condition Red when I am handling and shooting a gun. My sensible and just gun control comes from many years as a gunslinger.

So tell us YOUR version. NOT the generalities you have been whimpering about. SPECIFICALLY what would YOU do? What, and why?

Okay for the fifth or maybe tenth time. All state laws on guns vacated in favor of Federal universal regulations. A specific and dedicated US agency, on the level of HLS, to do extensive background checks and set guidelines and establish a punitive code for violations or referrals to a recovery agency. Three month wait period for possession. No sales or transfers without the federal approval process. No magazines over ten bullets. No assault rifles. No weapons of semi-
or mass destruction, like grenades, flame-throwers, bazookas, or automatic weapons (that is not a complete list). Strict training in the use and proper care of weapons, with bi-yearly classes and testing.

You mean "Universal Federal Regulations" like the more than 76,000 stops in ONE YEAR (violations of FEDERAL, not state regulations that were not prosecuted?

"A specific and dedicated US agency, on the level of HLS, to do extensive background checks and set guidelines and establish a punitive code for violations or referrals to a recovery agency."
We already have one. It's called the FBI. We have another one called the BATFE. They also enforce Federal law when they are not busy breaking it themselves.
I can't give my grandson my deer rifle without a lengthy Federal paperwork nightmare. Right.
Assault Rifles are almost impossible to own already.
No magazines over ten bullets? Fine by me. I noticed you didn't put any restrictions on the number of fully functional rounds a magazine can hold.

What the hell is a weapon of "semi-destruction?"
How many people do you know who keep a bazooka in the hall closet? You realize they have not been manufactured for more than 50 years?
How many people do you know that have a few grenades in their nightstand?
Automatic weapons? You DO realize that in the past 75 years, legally owned automatic weapons have been used in less than five crimes? "Bazookas" have been used in none. I'm glad to see you didn't bitch about the M-1 Abrams in my driveway.
"Strict weapons training?" I have already had more than most cops. You should sign up for one of those classes yourself, since you haven't more than the vaguest notion of what you are talking about.

What you are suggesting is that we burn the Constitution of the United States and start over with a blank sheet of paper.

You're woefully short on facts..........
How many school-shootings in January alone?......Okay, how many???
How many accidental shootings where children are killed?.......HOW MANY????
Federally mandated laws and penalties need to be put in place--fast!....What laws and
penalties do you propose?????
Why not just a national law mandating basic safety measures and consequences for their violation?......this would be???.....maybe like all the laws mandating safety measures and
consequences for automobiles??....and still more people are killed by cars than by guns.
Would you kindly provide the names of those 26 States????
There is no violation of freedom, only a protection for users of that freedom.....the USERS of that freedom don't need protection; they are quite proficient in the use of firearms.
We have uncontrollable violence in this country, growing increasingly worse each year.....WRONG, FBI says gun violence crimes are DOWN.....except in Chicago of course where under a DEMOCRAT mayor crime has skyrocketed.
All of those school shootings......Here is the real crime.....Sandy Hook.....after that massacre the NRA offered to train, free of charge, any teacher or anyone else associated with the school, in the use of firearms for the protection of the kids. The CURE????....they bulldozed the school, built a new one and sent their kids right back into the same situation, with NO protection against another attack. How about this one.....a school shooting in Kentucky where a teenage hunter in Kentucky ran to his pickup and got his hunting rifle and returned to the scene to take down the shooter. If ONE teacher, or the janitor, in any of those schools had been armed, things would've turned out differently. If you are going to leave it up to law enforcement, consider this.....it takes 9 to 12 minutes for police to respond to a call.....now consider the response time of a bullet from the gun of an armed citizen on the spot. In general, police do not prevent crimes.....they are called to INVESTIGATE crimes after they are committed.....about 85% of their time.
The best way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. I would rather have a gun in my hand than the police on the phone.

Rumitoid's version of crime prevention is to disarm the victim. Personally, he will hide under his bed and hope that someone with one of those guns he wants to ban shows up to save his butt. If he succeeds in banning firearms, his last thought before some thug beats in his empty skull will be at least I'm not a victim of gun violence."

Instead of more useless gun laws. Why not a "real" study on why kids are killing kids? It's sure not guns making them do it. How many of these kids are on some sort of anti-depressant? I know when I coached high school wrestling I was thunderstruck at the list I had to have of each kid I coached. didn't know how you could become so screwed up by age 15. It's not the guns, it's the culture. The very liberal institutions that are always lecturing the rest of us about guns are the very institutions that promote violence, sexual promiscuity, and gender confusion. Oh yea, they also think taking God out of every equation is a good idea. So excuse me if I don't take some liberal lecturing the rest of us on guns seriously.
