The 'Our America Initiative' - Breaking The Duopoly

Larry the Legend Loc: Not hiding in Milton

According to their 'about' page, the 'Our America Initiative' sees an American public that is growing more and more dissatisfied (impatient?) with both of the duopoly parties:

"While those on the edges of the spectrum are becoming noisier and more strident, more and more Americans are actually rejecting those extremes, shedding political labels and embracing a simple idea: Less government and greater freedom."

"Shedding political labels", now there's an idea I can support. I'm starting to like where this is coming from. "Less government and greater freedom"! Whoa! OK, you made my day! I'm in! Sign me up!

Yep, I'm all in for this idea; but then, something....

Hold it! (Sound of brakes screeching). Where's the catch? Whenever someone starts extolling the virtues of limited government and greater freedom, there's always some agenda behind it that does the exact opposite. How do I know this is 'legit'? Just how exactly is this supposed to come about?

Flipping to the 'Projects' page, I find:

"Through events, speaking engagements and national media appearances, the leaders of the Our America Initiative continually strive to frame key issues in terms of liberty and the proper role of government."

"The leaders", hmm. Well, at least it didn't say 'Dear Leader', thankfully, but who are 'the leaders'? Probably some group of RINOs trying to 'rebrand' I'll bet. Flipping back to the 'About' page:

"The Our America Initiative, founded by former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson and strategist Ron Nielson, is dedicated to mobilizing this growing liberty movement". Gary Johnson was the 2017 Libertarian party Presidential candidate. He and running mate Bill Weld garnered the highest share of the vote for a Libertarian Presidential campaign in history. Johnson was Governor of New Mexico from 1995 to 2003 as a member of the Republican Party. Bill Weld was Governor of Massachusetts from 1991 to 1997, also as a Republican party member.

Finally there's this little gem:

"Our America has assembled key leaders of the small government movement, established advocacy organizations in every state, and is mobilizing the largest grassroots army of liberty activists in the nation." Seems they're picking up where Ron Paul left off.

OK, I signed up. Let's see how it goes. Here's the website:

On a topic close to everyone's heart, here's a headline I just love:

Our America Initiative Launches Effort to End Civil Forfeiture and Asset Seizure Without Due Process.

Yes! Yes! Yes!
