We have certain controls in place, rules set, to guide our children in wisdom, safety, and ethics; make them aware of consequences to their actions; and establish a moral ground on which to live. This is, in the ideal, predicated on our love for our children, not just a system of oppression for childhood urges. It is hoped, through this discipline, that they gain confidence, respect, and care for themselves as well respect and care for others. To allow our children to run wild, to do as they please without certain controls and rules and guidelines is unforgivable permissiveness. This is what the NRA wants for the entire population of this country. Sensible controls, rules, and guidelines federally in place to protect all citizens equally as a matter of law, gun-owner or not, they see as an oppression of their 2nd Amendment rights. Universal gun-control will gradually teach our nation the discipline of care and respect for self and others, provide understandable consequences and responsibility, and reduce the uncontrollable violence we are experiencing.

How many school-shootings in January alone? This is somehow acceptable, "the cost of liberty" as Bill O'reilly said?
