Luke Chapter 1


Forward

Luke was not a disciple. He was a scribe of Paul and a medical doctor. He was very thorough and got his information from eye witnesses. Today experience doesn’t matter and ideas that have never worked are talked about like they are common knowledge. Some believe there are gay animals even no though one has ever saw two male dogs stuck. Communism has a 0% success rate and ruins every nation that lets it take over. Evolution is not a fact, it is a theory. It takes more faith to believe in an improvable theory than to believe in a creator. There are more detailed instructions in Luke that any other gospel.

Verse 1 - 4

Many people believed Jesus was the one spoken of in the old testament. Luke documented the words of eye witnesses. When you understand, tell others. Theophilus means beloved of God.. If you love God enough to research, know that God loved you first.

Verse 5 - 20

This concerns the conception of John. The course of Abia sets a date. It covers loosely the second week in June. If a priest went into the temple and had sinned, he would die. Having specified times to perform priestly duties gave one time to clean up their act. Oftentimes, while performing priestly duties behind the veil, a priest would have a rope around his ankle and be given a bell to ring to let others know he was still alive. The lesson for us today is we should know that God holds preachers to a higher standard. They shouldn’t sleep with the wives of the men that bring their families to their church. God came to this reality and wrote with His finger in stone not to commit adultery. Obviously Gabriel was offended by Zacharias question. In Daniel 9:24, Christ’s birth is predicted by this same angel. God holds preachers to a higher standard. As a priest, Zacharias should this was the season.

Verse 21 - 37

John was conceived about six months before Jesus. December 25 is not the birth of Christ, it is the conception. When life is conceived, we are wrong to kill it. Why did Mary get the freedom to ask questions? She was only 14. The young should be taught by the old.

Verse 38 - 45

The plan of God and how God works and how God interacts with man will be illustrated in the lives of these two infants when they grow up. What has been predicted for thousands of years is about to come true in front of everyone, but they won’t recognize. It will be the same when He returns. Satan is coming to this reality pretending to be Jesus. Those who don’t the Jesus revealed in scripture will be fooled. Satan will have people united together to fight God. God made us. This battle will be over quickly and be one sided. Deceived minds don’t have a chance. They think they are going to war. They really going to feed scavengers their dead bodies.

Verse 46 - 55

Christians should lead quiet humble lives, God will lift us up. Soon, those looked up to will be revealed as just people, sometimes confused people. Friendship with the world is enmity with God. A friend of the world is God’s enemy.

Verse 56 - 63

Zacharias has been instructed by Gabriel to name the child John. Satan opposes everything God wants. Here, he is using neighbors to name the child something other than John. God’s disciples follow God’s instructions.

Verse 64 - 80

Right now we have people who lead others to a Christ they have never followed. This is impossible. Jesus calls it blind leading blind. The saddest thing about that pathetic situation is knowing the one being led has no way of knowing the one leading is blind also until disaster happens. We have people teaching that don’t understand themselves. With every other subject, this doesn’t happen.. You can’t coach unless you’ve played. But to teach bible, faith is valued over experience. Some expect to be paid for the nonsense they teach. Some people get angry if the lessons taught in the bible disagree with nonsense they have accepted as truth. Those in darkness have to adjust to the light. One day experience will teach. The foolish ideas of the left will be seen as the nonsense they really are. Results will matter more than intentions.
