There is a classic example for those of us who have sacrificed and are parents: As babies/toddlers, it is not uncommon for one child to bite and push around another.

It is part of our retained animal nature. The other part of our human nature that is counter to civilization is the drive to fornicate like dogs in the park. Despite evidence to the contrary, Kalifornia is not the only place on earth where folks will defecate, urinate, copulate in public places.

Civilization in some places is a very, very thin veneer and easily discarded by the self-serving and beastly.
