I suggest that a high percentage of Leftists are not recoverable, in any true sense. The high profile people that have renounced their socialist/
communist/globalist ways are the exception, and they have had a more rational and open mind to assist them. In a true sense, the changeover is mentally revolutionary and destabilizing unless they do have the right coping skills, and real support from the rest of us. The number of memes they must cast aside and replace with better ones is daunting. I admire those that have gamely tried to aid such a conversion, and I hope they have great success...

A further comment: Many if not most Lefties are also atheists, and that puts a rod in the spokes I simply don't know how to cope with. It is possible that such people could accept the main lines of the Conservative approach, merely not allowing their atheist views to hinder their adoption of Conservatism. Even Russell Kirk suggested the same thing. I have never had the experience of chatting with an Atheist/Conservative.

I have and it happens to be my brother in law. We even like the same football team but when it comes to God and Jesus Christ he wants no part of that. I have witnessed to him on multiple occasions and finally one day he told me to never mention Christ to him again. I have honored his request and have not mentioned God to him since. His son was into drugs and passed away to cancer a couple of years ago and he has a daughter and some grandchildren left. His daughter still goes to church and so do his grandchildren. He attends plays where his grandchildren are in even going to church to see them at Christmas and Easter as well as Thanksgiving. He is conservative and a republican and voted for Trump as well. Go figure.

So many issues.
IMO; So much kindergarten mentality coming from churches/pastors.
There are so many reasons for disbelief. Takes books to cover that.
So little scholarship coming from most pulpits.
So many reasons for that also.

A lot of it comes from churches looking at these mega churches and trying to emulate them and enlarge their churches as well.

Thus enters in the seeker service which is a feel good service with no meat in the service at all.

So now we have quite a number of "believers" that have virtually no clue as to what the bible says about many issues and thus make fools of them selves when questioned.

For that reason they come across as unknowing and thus giving Christianity a black eye so to speak.
