Back up on ramps, we may have to pull the steering box again. If we cannot adjust it and remove a shim and so forth until the play is gone. Pain in the bottom. In the vacant space between the dump bed and chassis. I built a shelf and 6 ea. 2 gallon fuel cans fit extremely well.
Starts and runs thru the warm up cycle really well. Looks like the engine is going to be friendly and reliable. I have some hours on it now. Clutch is usable but needs to be adjusted to a more operable optimum position Brakes are close. I'll probably go with this setup.
Need to top off hydraulic reservoir, and button up the power take off dump system. Still looking for the best friction additive for crankcase, trans, rear-end, and hydraulic ram.
Lots of painting the frame and under carriage, differential and drive line.

Made an appointment for communications CB, am/fw, laptop, router, antennas headsets and speakers.

Contrary to some I think it's a neat old truck I might give some serious thought if it were for sale
One can not buy anything like this today. Nice
I haven't asked them. and could give a shit. Whatever they think? They say positive encouraging things, people stop and get out of their cars and trucks to tell us what a good job we are doing and ask questions. It is not on blocks in the dirt, in pieces anymore. Define neat! How does one arrive at neat without going thru disheveled?

My definition of NEAT is "it was done neatly or good."
Everything is/was/will be done neat. Remove cab and dumpbed, scrape and acid bath, primer and paint, disassemble scrape , acid bath body parts, prime, gasket, reassemble. NO RUST as it is restored to its modified excellence. As good as it can be at each step. That is neat. if you are looking for finished then that is a ways off.
You're always a dickhead by nature.

Beautiful example of the sturdy vehicles that used to be built. I haven't seen a dump truck like that since I was in school.
