We should tear down the Statue of Liberty

To Silent Generation, maybe the DACA are supposed to do those things, but consider the facts. About 25% dropped out of school so are not even high school graduates. As for reporting annually and paying a fee, do you really believe every one of the 690,000 people have been doing that?? That belief is on a par with the one that DACA people are all good people, the best of America, the future of America. Such beliefs are an insult to every American, especially our American young people who are the only ones with a right to the American dream.

The Statute of Liberty does not state, "give me your illegals, rapists, pedophiles, islamic terrorists, slackers, disease ridden, and anti America extremists", so Mr Lujan can kiss my a-s with his extreme theory on immigration.

I don't get it! Why does it matter so much what the Statue of Liberty says...I mean...how many people does she think will fit inside her?

Rosemary LaBonte wrote to the editors of a California newspaper in response to an article they printed and written by Ernie Lujan who suggests we should tear down the Statue of Liberty because the immigrants of today aren't being treated the same as those who passed through Ellis Island and other ports of entry. Seems Mr Lujan wants a free pass for some. The paper never printed a response, so her husband sent it out via internet. Now I am posting some it here.

Maybe we should turn to our history books and point out to people like Mr. Lujan why today's American is not willing to accept this new kind of immigrant any longer. Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all areas of Europe to come to the United States, people had to get off a ship and stand in a long line in New York and be documented.

Some would even get down on their hands and knees and kiss the ground. They made a pledge to uphold the laws and support their new country in good and bad times. They made learning English a primary rule in their new American households and some even changed their names to blend in with their new home.

They had waved goodbye to their birth place to give their children a new life and did everything in their power to help their children assimilate into one culture. Nothing was handed to them. No free lunches, no welfare, no labor laws to protect them. All they had were the skills and craftsmanship they had brought with them to trade for a future of prosperity.

Most of their children came of age when World War II broke out. My father fought alongside men whose parents had come straight over from Germany , Italy , France and Japan None of these 1st generation Americans ever gave any thought about what country their parents had come from. They were Americans fighting Hitler, Mussolini and the Emperor of Japan . They were defending the United States of America as one people.
When we liberated France , no one in those villages were looking for the French American, the German American or the Irish American. The people of France saw only Americans. And we carried one flag that represented one country. Not one of those immigrant sons would have thought about picking up another country's flag and waving it to represent who they were. It would have been a disgrace to their parents who had sacrificed so much to be here. These immigrants truly knew what it meant to be an American. They stirred the melting pot into one red, white and blue bowl.
And here we are with a new kind of immigrant who wants the same rights and privileges. Only they want to achieve it by playing with a different set of rules, one that includes the entitlement card and a guarantee of being faithful to their mother country. They get free tuition to our schools, health care, housing, a credit card, a voters card!!! All this cost over 135 BILLION
dollars a year and it's going up. Our roads and bridges are falling apart, but our Democrat leaders care not. They only care about the vote these people can make.
I'm sorry, that's not what being an American is all about. I believe that the immigrants who landed on Ellis Island in the early 1900's deserve better than that for all the toil, hard work and sacrifice in raising future generations to create a land that has become a beacon for those legally searching for a better life. I think they would be appalled that they are being used as an example by those waving foreign country flags.
And for that suggestion about taking down the Statue of Liberty , it happens to not mean a lot to the Senators who are not voting on the immigration bill. They would shut down our country
instead.
I wouldn't start talking about dismantling the United States just yet.

FOR THE WRONG THINGS TO PREVAIL, THE RIGHTFUL MAJORITY NEEDS TO REMAIN COMPLACENT AND QUIET.
LET THIS NEVER HAPPEN!

I sincerely hope this letter gets read by millions of people all across the nation! And we do something to fix it.

The amount was given in a news story last month about the DACA immigrants. I thought those who are employed are required to pay an annual fee.

This particular group is the focus off attention in the current negotiations to end the government shutdown.

Well, Radiance3, you were doing fairly well until you derailed on the last statement about Rosemary. Maybe you should go back and reread the letter she wrote a little more carefully.

The immigrants during the early days came legally. They were vetted, that is why they were required to stop first at the Ellis Island to review their qualifications, and check for diseases. As soon as they were accepted, they were part of the builders of America. They worked very hard, started from scratch, specially at that time, the US was still underdeveloped. They did all kinds of hard work, assimilated all the cultures, traditions, and patriotism that made up America today. They were part of the builders who sacrificed, worked very hard dedicated their lives building America, and defended from aggression of foreign forces.

In CONTRAST, the illegal aliens of today, did not have the vetting whether they have communicable diseases, criminals, terrorists, drug dealers, dupe addicts, rapist, head coppers, and free loaders. These illegals coming to the US today are enemies, invaders, terrorists, communists, socialists, and Islam whose goals are to kill all of us, chop off our heads, and take over this country for their god islam.

These current illegals came mostly to free load, to lay their millions of babies free in our hospitals at our expense. They came to have free medical care for their communicable diseases, to steal, to kill. They came to take over. They don't assimilate, Most of them can't speak English, they can't read and write. They just want to free load and make so many babies. Most of them are lazy, and just wanted to handout. They could not work because they are illiterate. They could not learn because most of them are dumb. They get fat after eating so much of the free food stamps provided by Obama, in exchange for the illegal votes they give to the democrats. That's what they are good for creating fraud for the democrats. And the democrats used them to win the election. These kinds of people are enemies who must be deported. As a result, we the taxpayers, spend every year $113 billion plus for these illegals whose goals are mostly contrary to the interests of the American people. We need to return them to where they came from. No more of those.

The US wants people who are educated Christians preferably, with good morals, ready to work hard and contribute to the economy, assimilate to our culture, patriotic and defend our country like their own.

That woman Rosemary who came illegally must be arrested and prosecuted for attempting to destroy the Statue of Liberty.

DACA is just another 'pant load' Obama has illegally thrust upon the rest of us and we are forced to handle.

And off he goes with lifetime rewards of retirement and health care the rest of us could not even dream of attaining... all at our expense!

We who created the American dream are by large the descendants of immigrants. Our immigration laws have become a patchwork of quick fixes. Our lawmakers need to take a good long look at the entire immigration system with the goal of total reform.

i believe you are right there. Perhaps, I hastily replied, without going through the details of what she wrote. I think Rosemary was correct. Thank you for pointing that out.
