As such, my information regarding the “shithouse” meeting comes from similar sources as yours does. But, instead of willingly trying to find an “out” for Trumpet’s phrasing, I take it at face-value and rely on what was said, first; not some after-thoughts that change the narrative completely and seem to be an attempt at a cover-up to protect Trumpet from himself, again.

Now, Durban did make a bad call a few years ago and was called-out for it. But, if you’re willing to accept the CHANGED versions of what occurred in the meeting by 2 GOPTP senators and a Cabinlet Secretary, then, that’s on you.

I have to wonder, “Why did the 2 GOPTP senators change their accounting of what was said?” They went from, “I didn’t hear the word spoken,” to, “He never said the word.” Now, which version is the truth? Which version is a lie? How could they go from “not hearing the word” to saying “he didn’t say the word?” First impressions are usually right.

Senator Graham didn’t dispute Durbin’s account of the meeting and he’s as GOPTP as they come. And, Durbin hasn’t changed his account one iota. Unlesss one is totally drain-bramaged, and openly chooses to NOT question the change in accounting, just for partisan politics, then there is no reason not to question the change by those of us in the outside, looking in.
