The Day American Independence Was Won!

Larry the Legend Loc: Not hiding in Milton

On this day, January 14, 1784 (233 years ago to the day, wow, has it really been that long?), the Treaty of Paris was ratified by the Continental Congress of the United States, meeting in the Senate Chamber of the Maryland State House. The Treaty formally ended the Revolutionary War and established the United States as a free and independent nation. Like many things 'American', it was a close call:

Definitely not in attendance was one Benedict Arnold, who was probably in England celebrating his (spoiled?) birthday. Fitting that the ratification of America's independence should forever be remembered on the birthday of its biggest traitor, don't you think?

And right under Benedict Arnold you can list Barack Obama and his wife/husband Michael.
