Logic indicates that if it reached a record high in July 2013 and has continued to grow albeit at a slower pace than it had under obama, it has to be at a new high as corroborated by current news reports.

And no matter who was president it would still be at a record high--albeit Hillary or the king that you were trying to imply had done it all by himself.

Quote:
Further, the current unemployment rate is at 4%, the lowest it has been in seventeen years, elasticity be damned. Were it not for the hidden unreported millions that had given up looking for work under obama, the actual unemployment rate would be lower yet. The only thing obama was able to continually grow was the national debt.

The unemployment rate is 4.1 because the elasticity in the work force was finally used up. If you had taken anything more that freshman economics you would know that. That's what the statistics say anyway--if you knew how to read them. Oh, and since you are such a world class economist, under 7 Obama budgets government spending increased by only 350 billion dollars so how is it debt could rise by several trillion dollars over the same period of time?

And one last thing. What unreported millions were there? If they were unreported just how do you know how many there were?

I didn't say that *I* didn't know who the enemy is. I was questioning whether *you* know who they are...

Then it's a good thing I'm not disloyal and there is nothing in my actions or words that can be construed as such.

I don't know what you mean by an "actual democracy" (everyone seems to have different definitions these days) If you mean "direct democracy"... we never were. The Republic was never designed to be a direct democracy, it was always meant to be a representative democracy and that design has not changed. The laws about who can vote have changed over time, but none of that changed the rules about how the votes are represented. There have been examples of foul play, such as gerrymandering but the rules are unchanged. There have been questionable judgments such as Citizens United vs the FEC that have validated unlimited election contributions as a 1st Amendment right, but that didn't change what the Constitution says about representation either. That just puts the representatives, who now have to compete for campaign funding, between a rock and a hard place, where they have to choose between their constitutional duty and being re-elected. The recent tax reform is a prime example. Donors told the law makers to pass the bill no matter how much the people don't want it, or they loose their donations for re-election.

You're right, the oligarchy DOES love this. The oligarchy is the enemy I've been referring to all this time Payback. Trump is a wolf in sheep's clothing - his reference to "the swamp", leads people to think he is referring to the oligarchy and that he is the antithesis, but that's the con and honestly, it doesn't take much to see it, which is why the con is only working on 24% or less of the population.

straightUp, It reminds me of George Orwells classic novel, 1984. In this work, Orwell tells us about big brothers " newspeak " in which words are eliminated from the English language, in order to reduce the chances of revolution.

Just when I didn't think the Trump Administration could get any more childish... Now they are subjecting the doctors and scientists involved with the Center for Disease Control to a list of forbidden words. Yes, that's right, these are words the CDC is not allowed to use in their reports. Here they are...

1. vulnerable
2. entitlement
3. diversity
4. transgender
5. fetus
6. evidence-based
7. science-based

OK, Trump supporters... I can't wait to hear your excuses for this one. Do the morons in the White House actually think forbidding the use of these words will impede the ability of much smarter people to communicate their concerns to the public?

I can communicate around those words easily...

The Trump Administration is making efforts to suppress recognition of our multi-cultural heritage [diversity] and the freedom of identity, especially when it involves sex reassignment [transgender]. Evidently, they don't want to hear about how exposed the impoverished are [vulnerable] to the exploitation he encourages. They apparently want us all to forget the safety nets and securities [entitlements] that Americans fought hard for when trying to make America a better place for people to live. I would also seem they don't want us to think about the handouts [entitlements] that his tax policy lavishes on the elite. It looks like they don't want medical professionals to address any of the potential dangers to an unhatched or unborn, post-embryonic vertebrate [fetus] either and of course any recommendations based on scientific research [science-based] or any judgement based on empirical evidence [evidence-based] is discouraged.

Thing is... if enough of us had the ability to think this would be laughable. But the sad truth is too many of us can't think, or don't think because we're too busy being led by emotional outrage, fear and loathing. I was thinking about this when I got to the end of the article and saw the comments, one of which made the point of reminding us that the Nazis did the same thing.... Here's what it said...

The German Nazis called it "Gleichschaltung"— meaning "Coordination"—the policy of massive repression by which government agencies and personnel, professional societies, the press, cultural and societal institutions, and citizens were coerced into conforming to Nazi ideology. As a totalitarian measure its design was to silence all who opposed the Nazi regime as well as all whom the Nazi regime opposed.

Censorship was a key strategy behind this transition to fascism and like the current censorship of the Drumpf Administration, the words are not obscenities used to insult or repulse, they are words that are used in professional lexicons to effectively communicate. Clearly, this is not a measure taken for the sake of decency but a measure taken to advance Gleichschaltung in America.

George Orwell was a linguist during the height of European fascism. He might have been taking notes from the Gleichschaltung itself. Do you remember how isolated the characters were in that novel? It was like the oppression was administered to each individual in a personal nightmare. That's the part of 1984 I am waiting for more people to pick up on. There's a LOT of effort being made to divide the people and language is the bond those efforts need to break.

MARCH

Trade deficit: Trump signed an executive order in March directing a review of and reporting on major U.S. trade deficits.

Middle East: In March, the administration, led by U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, condemned a report against Israel by the U.N. Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia that was deemed anti-Semitic, prompting the resignation of the commission’s executive director.

Economy: U.S. homebuilder confidence rose to its strongest level in nearly 12 years, as strength in the jobs market and improving wages bolstered demand for homes.

Syria: In March, the Trump administration successfully forced the G-20 to remove its opposition to protectionism and temper its support for free trade. Any mention of climate change was eliminated from its joint statement.

Government reform: In March, Trump signed an executive order to perform an audit on every executive branch agency to reduce spending and waste and improve services.

FEBRUARY

Savings for oil companies: Trump signed a bill in February that eliminated a Dodd-Frank rule requiring oil companies such as Exxon Mobile to publicly disclose the taxes and fees they pay to foreign governments, which would have cost the industry as much as $385 million annually.

Finance reform: The administration ordered review of the 2010 Dodd-Frank financial oversight law in February while urging Congress to remove the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s authority to supervise banks and financial companies, returning that power to other federal and state regulators.

Russia: The administration countered Russian propaganda by launching two government-run media outlets in February broadcasting in Russian.

Military: In February the administration reached a tentative deal with Lockheed Martin to purchase 90 F-35 jets at the lowest price in the program’s history. The first 90 planes were about $725 million below budget, with billions of dollars in additional savings expected. The deal saved at least one U.S. ally, Japan, $100 million.

Government reform: In February, the president announced he did not plan on filling numerous government positions he considered unnecessary.

Law enforcement: In February, President Trump signed three executive orders to strengthen law enforcement. The first strengthens the law against international crime organizations. The second combats anti-law-enforcement crimes. The third seeks a strategy for reducing crime in general, including, in particular, illegal immigration, drug trafficking and violent crime.

School bathrooms: Trump, in February, reversed Obama’s executive order requiring public schools to allow students to use bathrooms and locker rooms according to their preferred “gender identity.”

Second Amendment: President Trump signed a bill into law in February repealing an Obama-era Social Security Administration rule adding mental disability determinations to the background check registry. The Obama regulation potentially allowed the denial of Second Amendment rights to many competent, mentally healthy citizens.

JANUARY

Trans Pacific Partnership: Trump signed an executive order in January removing the U.S. from the international pact, which critics charged was a monumental compromise to American sovereignty and would take millions of jobs away from American workers.

Persecuted Christians: Reversing Obama administration policy, Trump pledged in January that Christian refugees suffering persecution in Muslim countries would be given priority over other refugees seeking to enter the United States.

Homeland security: Trump signed an executive order in January banning people from seven countries regarded by the Obama administration as havens for terrorism from entering the U.S. for 90 days and blocked all refugees for 120 days while the administration assessed its security process. After legal challenges, the administration issued a revised order in March, and in June the U.S. Supreme Court decided a version of the ban could go into effect until the court addresses its constitutionality in October.

Immigration: The DOJ resumed the criminal prosecution of first-time illegal border crossers after it had been stopped by the Obama administration.

Government reform: Trump signed an executive order in January to expedite environmental reviews of infrastructure projects, to jumpstart industry spending and investment.

Manufacturing regulations: Trump signed an executive order in January reducing regulations on manufacturers.

Abortion: In January, Trump expressed strong support for the annual pro-life March for Life. Vice President Mike Pence became the first vice president to speak at the event, and White House senior adviser Kellyanne Conway also spoke.

Regulatory reform: Trump set up task forces in every agency to remove “job killing regulations” and increase “economic opportunity.” The Trump administration is on track to finish the first phase of its regulatory reform program with $645 million in net annual regulatory savings, according to an analysis by the American Action Forum. By comparison, during President Obama’s years in office, more than 22,700 regulations were imposed on Americans at a cost to American consumers, businesses and workers of more than $120 billion each year. AAF called Trump’s order reducing regulation and controlling regulatory costs “one of the most significant developments in regulatory policy in decades,” noting it was the first time in U.S. history that the executive branch has established a regulatory budget.

Women in business: Trump launched the United States-Canada Council for Advancement of Women Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in February.

Immigration: Trump expanded deportation priorities, signing an executive order in January that includes people who “have committed acts that constitute a chargeable criminal offense,” which could include anyone who entered the country illegally, leading to a significant increase in arrests.

Military: In January, Trump signed a memorandum to begin the expansion and rebuilding of the U.S. military.

Government reform: Trump signed an executive order Jan. 23 placing a hiring freeze on federal employees.

Regulatory reform: Shortly after his inauguration, President Trump signed an executive order mandating that for every new regulation, two regulations must be revoked. In practice, the administration has exceeded that mark, rescinding or delaying more than 860 regulations, or 16 regulations for every new one implemented.

Abortion: In January, Trump signed an order reinstating the Mexico City Policy, which defunded the International Planned Parenthood Federation and other organizations that promote foreign abortions.

President’s salary: President Trump, as promised during his election campaign, has donated his salary.

Technology: After his election, Trump met with top tech leaders, including Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, Bill Gates of Microsoft and Jeff Bezos of Amazon. According to Gates, it was “a good conversation about innovation, how it can help in health, education, the impact of foreign aid and energy, and a wide-ranging conversation about power of innovation.”

My complements on a superb list. It obviously took some time to compile and I hope our mutual antagonist is clever enough to try to get himself up to speed; as a dimocrat he will probably simply try to ignore it and will come up with some lame attempt at a flanking attack. Such is to be expected from such mental incompetents though. Again, well done.

From your response it is apparent that you are unaware that your serene highness managed to add approximately $10 Trillion to our national debt, an accomplishment never before achieved. Well if we added 10 trillion in debt and 350 came from increased spending then where did the other 9.65 Trillion come from? You may well have a minor in economics but you are flunking how to add and subtract.

Nimblewits ran our debt to $20 Trillion, $10 trillion of which he added and approx 10 trillion he inherited. I don't know where you came up with the 350 figure. And if Sanders had had his way, he'd have added another $20 Trillion in debt with his free college tuition scheme. Back to your drawing board, Orville
