Driving home from Lake Placid last week, after grocery shopping, my daughter took this photo of Whiteface Mountain. How blessed
We are to live here, surrounded by beauty, even when doing mundane tasks, and how we take it for granted. God Bless America! Another view of the mountain ten minutes later, dark but beautiful.

When my kids were little , I used to super secure them to a life vest attach a long rope and let them "swim" the rapids. For hours, who needs a theme park. They learned to swim against the current and still do. That is the Ausable, ran into a few disgruntled fishermen.

When you look at a scene like that, it's hard to believe there can be evil.
America is very beautiful.

When I was in my late teens my boss and I would jump in my VW and drive 13 hours from Va. Beach, Va. to Lake Placid to ski. I did the Olympic bobsled run, what a rush. We'd ski Sat and part of Sun then drive home in time to go to work. We would sometimes go to Greek Peak in the Lake Country where I'd lived as a child. I love your area of the country but don't want to do the winters now. I'm glad to hear you're doing better. Get plenty of rest else you'll be on your back again. Merry Christmas and lots of love for the New Year. Mike

Well, thank you Mike and a very Merry Chrstmas to you too.. Yes I focus on the Beauty, this time of year especially, cause winters are rough. My son works the lifts at Whiteface, windchill at the summit can reach 100 below. So we load up on wood, check the generator, make sure we have books and good food and watch from the window as much as possible.
