"Much depends on the quality of the gatekeepers who determine what news topics get traction in the public mindset. Those media agenda setters used to be grizzled, professional journalists who understood news and public dialogue. Sure, power was centralized in the hands and heads of powerful news editors of the big television networks, wire service and major dailies. But, at least, they were journalists who had some conception of their civic duties as public surrogates and had the noses to sniff out news of substance".

Yep, that just about sums it up right there.

Then along came the internet:

Oh, how I love the internet!

"Once upon a time, the masses were given the 'official line' by the town crier and they believed it. News traveled by literally being yelled out in the streets for all to hear by a paid government mouthpiece." Not any more...

America sorely misses the likes of Walter Cronkite, or Huntley and Brinkley.

Men who belived that their duty was to present the NEWS, fairly and accurately, without bias.

Todays "news contortionists" see their only duty as that of shaping public opionon; to conform to their views and purposes.

My dad used to call Cronkite on CBS;
Walter Crankcase on the Communist Broadcasting system (CBS)
Walter was a member of the CFR, Council on Foreign Relations, and toed the line of that globalist organization.

Same for Brinkley;
David Brinkley CFR/92
