should Girls be Boy Scouts

I was working in my garage with the door up. Two Boy Scouts came by explaining their flyer. May I leave this flyer with you?
They are collecting New Blankets for homeless kids that go to Beaverton High school.

I was a Boy Scout. So, I asked should girls be in Boy Scouts?

I got a big NO. Girls belong in their own thing. Boy Scouts is for boys or it is not Boy Scouts.

When i was in the scouts (in the 40S)i would have jumped at the chance to go camping with girls.it would have been mayhem in those tents. This coed bathroom would have had all of us
taking showers in with the girls.

I believe that all these crazy ideas are just to help break down our moral structer

No. That's why it's called BOY scouts, and GIRL scouts. They are boys, and girls who grow up to be men, and women. Not some other......THING.

My first jamboree was at Coggin Park in Brownwood Texas.

There were plenty of girls who came to admire us at our campsites.

We were proud of our uniforms and our parents participated in helping us learn the many challenges.

My scoutmaster was killed in a car accident after many years of leading our troop.

He was a born leader and a true role model.

Those were golden days indeed.

What is happening with the Boy Scouts is so wrong I wouldn't let my boys ever join such an awful group it's not the scouts I used to belong too!!!

I am a new participant here. My take on girls being in Boy Scouts in NO. I raised one girl and 3 boys. All in Scouts.

I have been a den leader for 31 years. No longer any kids and grandchildren to old right now. Maybe with the next batch coming up.

When my daughter became old enough to join scouts, I put her in a troop. It lasted 3 weeks. She came to me and said she was tired of "tea parties". I looked at the book and there was a lot to do besides "tea parties".

So I started a girl scout troop. I was able to switch back and forth from one to the other without any problem. My daughter and her friends got to do all the "cool" things that the boys did, earn their badges, had a great time and did not have to worry about being themselves, especially as they got older.

They were taught they are just as good as the boys and can do anything they would like to do in life. Also as they got older there was none of the friction between them. I didn't have to stay up to keep track of them. And yes it would have happened had there been boys and girls in the same troop.

When I was a young man I scouted for pretty girls I found one and tomorrow we celebrate our 55th. But that's not the same thing as we find today is it? What was that old song...."Rachel, Rachel I've been thinking what a queer world it would be if the men were all transported far across the Northern Sea."
