The Real Decision With Respect to Roy Moore

Moore's defenders are saying "innocent until proven guilty." But he is not on trial. He is running for the Senate. Alabamans have to decide whether they should send this man to Washington to represent them in the Senate. The standard is not "innocent until proven guilty." It is what do Alabamans think about this man based on what they have read by the time Election Day occurs. There will be no trial by then to determine either guilt or innocence. So that cannot be the standard. Alabamans have to make their own judgment on the merits. You have to ask yourself, why would these women make this up out of whole cloth, throwing their lives into utter disarray? Simply to try to swing an election? That seems unlikely to me. Their stories are detailed. Moore has not denied that he dated teenagers, and plenty of people seem to have corroborated that he hung around in malls and dated teenage girls. The important thing, Alabamans: judge the man by yourself, now, based on what you have read. Don't hide behind "innocent until proven guilty" because that would be true if he shot a man yesterday in cold blood. Just because there is no time for a trial does not preclude guilt. You have to figure that out yourself on this one.

Because of Weinstein. So what. The real issue is whether you think the women are telling the truth. Why in the world would they throw their own lives into chaos, by lying, just to possibly swing an election? Are you kidding?

This fool was kicked off the bench twice, he was basically called a pig headed dummy by his law professor. He did not know what DACA was, that is how much he keeps up with the law.

Because that is exactly the Dems strategy: demonize & destroy. They did it to Cain but he resigned. Moore should not resign unless he knows he’s guilty. He alone knows the truth. It is very sad that many Americans cannot see what is happening. What have they done to Trump in the last year? News flash: it will continue for probably 8 more years.

Why would these women uproot their own lives by making this up? To try to swing an election? Does that sound logical to you? The Dems convinced these women to make up a lie to beat Roy Moore? Really????

Why is this so out of the realm of possibility for you? Look, the democrat party is flopping like a fish out of water, they’re on life support. It’s already been shown that the Dems are not above rigging an election. And it wouldn’t surprise me in the least to find out the DNC is bribing these women. Especially when we found out one of these women has already been caught lying when it comes to allegations such as these. It’s unfortunate that you’re willing to disregard the foundation of our criminal justice system of “innocent until proven guilty” in favor of unsubstantiated accusations being all that’s necessary. There’s no reason he can’t be elected, then have his day in court, and if proven guilty, be removed from the position.

OK, that's what you believe, fine. I believe the women. There is no time for a trial or for all the facts to come out. If you think Roy Moore is worthy to be your Senator, based on what you know now, vote for him. If you think the DNC has bribed the women, be my guest. Just look at it all objectively and see what makes most sense to you. Just don't say "innocent until proven guilty" because by that standard you would elect anyone who committed a crime right now, including the Vegas shooter, who has not had time to go to trial.

That’s because of your ideology. If you were honest I’ll bet you didn't believe Bill Clinton’s accusers, of which there were just as many, or show the same level of outrage.

It's so interesting what the Alabamans will have to figure out. 40 years have past, suddenly out of thin air, Allegations come out, right at the critical moment of election time. The Alabamans need to research the individual allegations that have been made by these women. They will have to dig into the past and see who they have been next to, personally and politically, if there was any money passed etc. You see, what happens when knee jerk reactions play with the allegations, some Alabamans react with no thought just knee jerk reaction, we see it all the time. Obama did it, so it's not only the intelligent but the mediocre. And, it sounds like Tgard79, you might have a knee Jerk reaction going yourself.

Ans this, why wold these women wait 40 years? Apparently, if it were true, it wasn't worth mentioning then was it?

Why? There’s no evidence to support their accusations. As of now, this is a classic example of “he said/she said”.

True, not enough time before the election, but there’s still plenty of time for these people to have their day in court. Would you think it fair if you weren’t hired for a job because someone accused you of something that you know you didn’t do, or would you like to have your side of the story heard?

I don’t live in Alabama. But if I did, I’d gather as much truthful information that I could in order to make an informed decision. Certainly wouldn’t base my decision on mere speculation.

I don’t necessarily think they did bribe them, I just wouldn’t put it past them. The party has no platform to run on, they are collapsing, and like any animal, it will do what it thinks is necessary to survive.

“Committed a crime right now”? You know Moore committed these crimes, right now? Or are you basing your decision on emotion?
I’ll say it all day long, because it’s the foundation of our criminal justice system, and I’m not willing to throw it away over unfounded accusations. I don’t care if it involves the pope or the homeless guy sleeping under a bridge. We are all innocent until proven guilty. I hope you can see here that I’m not directly defending Moore, I’m defending the American citizens’ right to due process.

The circumstances of the Vegas shooter is an entirely different animal. He was found in the very room the shooting came from, along with a whole bunch of other guns. That’s probable cause...

I guess they do not need another sexual predator in their rank

Nearly 50 people, including congressional lawmakers and current and past aides, say they have personally experienced sexual harassment on Capitol Hill or know others who have, CNN is reporting.
According to the news network, sexual harassment is pervasive throughout Congress.

And CNN revealed there is a "creep list," consisting of lawmakers known for inappropriate behavior. The list is passed by word-of-mouth and includes male members known for everything from making sexually suggests comments and seeking physical relations.
The unwritten list is made up primarily of those House members, notorious for inappropriate behavior, CNN reported.
"Amongst ourselves, we know," a former Senate aide told CNN referring to sexual harassers. "There is a certain code amongst us, we acknowledge among each other what occur."

Women working on the Hill say elevators are often the place where staff and members target females. They say they have been advised to stop riding alone with men if possible, CNN said.
Capitol Hill is described by one Senate aide as "a sort of old school, Wild West workplace culture that has a lot of  'work hard, play hard' ethos and without the sort of standard professionalism that you find in more traditional workplaces."

With "so many young women" working on Capitol Hill, many of the men "have no self-control," one ex-House aide told CNN.
Some of the women interviewed by CNN specifically cited a Texas congressman for inappropriate behavior, while more than a half dozen named a California congressman for pursuing women staffers, the news network said.
CNN did not name any lawmakers since the stories were unverified.

The Committee on House Administration is meeting on Tuesday for a hearing on harassment on Capitol Hill, The New York Times reported.
And the Times noted, it too interviewed more than 50 people and found sexual harassment has been an occupation hazard on Capitol Hill.

That’s disturbing, Moldy. Perhaps the only remedy is segregating Capital Hill according to gender...? Nah, that won’t work either, because according to the progressive left, we can change our gender at any given moment.
