Yes, where are the witch doctors when you need them? And why not refuse any medication offered by a valid physician? Oh, where did you leave your foil hat?
People were created unique and different from one another... same for physicians!
Some are more learned and adept in their fields than others.
Some physicians care about their patients;
and simply other physicians care about, "what's in your wallet" with a sweet or not demeanor.
My health choices are very Personal.
2016, I unequivocally adhered to your council...
a learned man, physician in his field, Dr. X diagnosed my condition and was immediately admitted into a local hospital.
I am diabetic, but through a 'holistic' treatment, my medication was at minimum and I was on the verge of being Independent without meds.
Dr. X amputated my left foot the next morning, then the third am, further hacking.
During this time, another doctor (Dr. X's cohort) helped me to being a full pledged diabetic again.
2 weeks later, Dr. X recommended further hacking off my leg.
I rejected Dr. X recommendations, sought further consultation of other doctors and was readmitted into another hospital. I was treated and discharged without further hacking off my leg. I received rehabilitation therapy services. Today, I live a fairly normal life at home.
I have no doubt that under Dr. X's care, I would have lost my leg and with his ego-driven attitude, lost my life. Regardless of your opinion, Mr. / Ms. MalG... my decisions was proper!
Consideration of your time, my story was simplified to the nth degree.
I left my tin foil hat at Dr. X's office!
No witch doctors, except by your maundering invitation of involvement.
Regarding immunizations; now, regarding the posted subject:
" Informed consent applies not just to risks taken by participants in scientific experiments, but also to risks taken by patients under the care of physicians.
Vaccination must remain a choice because it is a medical intervention performed on the body of a HEALTHY person that carries a RISK of INJURY OR DEATH, and this risk cannot be calculated or determined ahead of time."
