Chuck Schumer to Democrats: Now’s Not the Time for Gun Control
Posted On 19 Oct 2017

You don’t find many people in Congress less friendly to the Second Amendment than Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, but even he is urging the Democrats to push gun control issues to the side during the upcoming budget debate. Schumer, knowing that his caucus will get nowhere when it comes to gun control measures with a Republican majority and a pro-gun president, is pleading with Democrats to stick to economic issues that might actually vault them to victory in next year’s midterms.

“I would like and I am urging my caucus to limit it to four issues,” Schumer told reporters on Wednesday.

Those issues, according to The Hill, are opposition to the GOP plan to cut taxes for the highest earners, opposition to taxes that might go up for the middle class, arguments against any cuts to Medicare and Medicaid, and a push for tax reform that does not increase the deficit.

“Those are the four issues we’d like to focus on instead of doing a long vote-a-rama on every other issues,” he said.
Some Democrats had hoped to use the tragedy in Las Vegas to make a renewed push for gun control measures, but Schumer is cautioning them against the strategy. At least 10 Democrats are trying to win re-election in states that Trump carried in November, including several states with a long history of voting in favor of gun rights. Schumer may be as much of a zealot as anyone when it comes to grabbing guns, but he recognizes political reality when it’s staring him in the face. The question now is: Do the other Democrats in his caucus?

Whatever the answer to that question might be, it was clear this week that some on the left are completely unhinged when it comes to this subject. National Rifle Association spokeswoman Dana Loesch announced this week on Twitter that she has been forced out of her California home due to a barrage of death threats from gun control nuts.

“Spent my weekend preparing to move due to repeated threats from gun control advocates,” Loesch said Sunday. “One guy hunted down my private cell phone number, called when police were here, threatened to shoot me in my front yard. Another guy created a string of social media accounts, posted photos of my house, threatened to rape me to death.”

These are the supposedly caring individuals who just want “common sense” gun laws for the United States. Maybe the reason these nut jobs want gun laws so badly is because of the dark, unimaginable thoughts that dwell in their own heads?

Chuck Schumer to Democrats: Now’s Not the Time for... (show quote)

Let's hope the RINOS in Congress don't let the lefty loons grab control of ANY MORE legislation. Either Paul Ryan needs to rein those nimrods in the Senate in or find someone who can.
