This should be so easy, shouldn't it? No exchange of gifts or money. Did you read what the reps who were the people making up a new health care plan were getting from them? I posted it some time back, unbelievable

I do agree with you and think it needs to go back before the SC to strike their own ruling on corporations but they will not.. They may modify but they have never reversed their original ruling no matter how wrong it was..

Reporting of donations and dollar amounts is a joke and is no deterrent...

Yes the epitome of an oxymoron. Some states are getting organized and are petitioning against gerrymandering, I hope this catches fire.

A little something to consider ~~

The case before the U.S. Supreme Court , argued earlier this month, alleges that Republican legislators in Wisconsin used majority power and highly evolved computer programs to tilt districts in their favor. The court heard a similar case from Pennsylvania in 2004 and declined to overturn anything -- but Kennedy, the swing vote that 5-4 decision, left the door open to court action if things were to get worse.

“Today's gerrymandering has taken a giant step forward. In past years the Supreme Court has rejected a stacking of the deck against minority voters; the question now is whether partisan shakedowns in redistricting violate the Constitution's guarantee of representative government.

We believe that it does -- and the proof is in the electoral pudding.

With the high court divided, it will be up to Kennedy, still the swing vote, to decide if Wisconsin's districts have taken an unconstitutional turn. Any reversal could have a limited impact -- or it could establish a standard applicable to other states.”

It's time for the court to upset a badly loaded apple cart -- if not in time for the 2018 elections, to guide the 2020 elections -- and most critically, the redrawing of districts after the 2020 Census.”

Meanwhile, the fight goes othe Supreme Court is disgusted by hyperpartisan redistricting and eager to do something about it. That disgust may well be enough to strike down the most extreme gerrymanders.... But it probably won’t persuade the court to usher in a golden age of democracy in which political redistricting is vanquished once and for all.n ... and the fight begins~~

Good for you Morgan! I had you figured all wrong; I thought you was a Democrat. But your list follows conservative Republican initiatives all the way.

Natural resources -- absolutely, Hillary and the Dems sold 20 percent of our uranium reserves to the Russians. When the extent of this pay-for-play scandal is out, it will do major damage. At least $140 million was given by the Russians to the Clinton Foundation to buy Hillary's support for the uranium deal. And many ranchers were booted off their federal grazing land to make it possible; one rancher (Levoy Finicum) is now dead a a result. We need to hang onto our uranium and our rare earth elements, which are essential for high tech equipment. And then there is coal; thanks to Trump, we are keeping more coal for power generation rather than shipping it all to China.

Education -- Trump and Betsy DeVos are making quality education available to all. By tearing education choice away from the clutches of selfish unions, school choice is opening through vouchers to a selection of schools, including cyber-schools. Parents will have the choice to send their kids to best school for their situation.

Terminal illness and medical care -- we cannot waste any more time with a failing ACA. Health insurance companies are abandoning Obamacare like rats off a sinking ship. Some states are already down to only one insurance provider; and when they go, no coverage will be available. Sick people will be in big trouble. Aetna is one of the biggest insurers, and announced early this year that they will be dropping out at the end of 2018. It would be easiest for Republicans to just let ACA fail, and Dems could suffer the embarrassment. But the right thing to do is fix it, or replace it NOW before a lot of people get hurt.

Terrorism and the needs of our own citizens -- finally the Supreme Court blocked the liberal judge lunacy. The travel ban is on for countries that export terrorism. Until a better vetting process is in place, we are protected from potential terrorists from those countries. And to address the needs of our own citizens ahead of other countries, Trump is pulling back billions of dollars that would have been wasted on other countries. E.g. we should not have to pay the full tab for the United Nations and we should not have to hand billions of dollars to other countries to pay for their global warming initiatives.

Thanks Morgan, I'm glad that we are in agreement on those issues.
