This morning America has been blessed with more idiot tweets from the top...

Late Night host are dealing with the Democrats for their very "unfunny" & repetitive material, always anti-Trump! Should we get Equal Time?

Equal time for what?

@realDonaldTrump wrote:
More and more people are suggesting that Republicans (and me) should be given Equal Time on T.V. when you look at the one-sided coverage?

So, now the turd wants to REGULATE comedy because he doesn't like all those people laughing at him. It just doesn't get any better than this. Oh, wait... the time he told Theresa May that he was cancelling his visit to the UK unless she could force the British people to be nice to him. THAT one still takes the cake. LOL!

Of course Fox "News" adds this little fact...

FoxNews wrote:
The FCC requires radio and network TV stations to give equal opportunities to legitimate political candidates, under the 1934 so-called “equal time” law.

So, I don't know if Fox is actually suggesting that this law can be applied to late night comedy but it can't because the law applies to political campaigns. Late night comedy is not a political campaign. This one might be hard for Fox to understand given their "entertainment as news" format but for anyone who isn't already a Trump-Fox mind puppet, the distinction is pretty clear.

Personally, I can't wait to see the late night comedians respond - it should be funny as hell.

The leftist's on TV, whether it's the radical rachel 'snaggletooth' Maddcow or any other attention starved reprobate beguiling the mentally deficient drones on the public airwaves...have nothing of importance to convey...kimmel, myers, and the rest of these liberal progressive domestic jihadist babysitters have become boring and sickeningly mundane...the thing they all have in common is keeping the ignorant and truly uninformed ...on a mental leash...

There really isn’t an equal Time law, there did used to be something called the fairness doctrine it essentially required broadcast outlets to provide equal access for opposing political views. It stipulated that a network would be obligated to provide viewers or listeners with both sides of an issue. This was done away with during the Reagan administration. Republicans have fought tooth and nail to keep the fairness doctrine from coming back, here is why. Let’s say networks were forced to give Tim Allen or Dennis Miller shows in the same time slot as Kimmel or Stewart, both would likely do well however other networks would be forced to offer opposing views to those of people like Beck and Limbaugh which they are adamantly against. Fox News would actually be forced to broadcast news rather than complaining that Rachael Maddow is reporting too much about Trumps collusion with the Russians. The return of the fairness doctrine would be a boon to our republic by removing gullible chumps from the echo chamber of lies they are fed. The republicans will never let it happen.

Sure I do... Probably not as much as the average American, or you (if you were honest). I use other sources for news and information but TV is great for late night comedy. :)

honestly don't have a tv in my house any more. Gave it to my youngest when she moved out and never replaced. I like comedy clubs for comedy. Only time I see T.V. is at one of my kid's houses when I visit them.

It may actually help these late night comedians. Their material is very stale.

LOL - What you obviously don't know (or choose to ignore) is that many Americans who watch these shows don't actually rely on them for education... If anything, the jokes are designed to appeal to those who are already well-informed which is why a lot of less-informed people think the jokes are "unfunny" or "mundane".

As you sit in the "live audience" area there is a sign that lights up too tell you how to respond..."Laugh...applause... and so on. If you listen, the response is getting very thin on the political BS. As the viewership drops, the advertizers will agree to pay fewer dollars for the commercial time and the ways wil\ll change of the "funny men" will be replaced.

You made an error, you should have typed "already ill informed.".

He does that. He provides them plenty of material. It the boring unchanging way they joke about it that is stale.

You can only laugh at the same scenario so many times before it becomes old.

There really isn’t an equal Time law, there did us... (show quote)

You bring up an interesting point... and like many other ideas that people have about what should or shouldn't be allowed, they don't think about the repercussions it might have on their own freedom. While I agree that mandating equal media time could theoretically challenge the grand illusion on the right, we should realize that the grand illusions themselves owe their current level of success more to commercial advertising than anything else. Fox News didn't become a top rated commercial success just by reporting the news. Their success came from attracting the attention of a huge crowd of advertising targets and it turns out fake news actually does the job really well.

So, if we were to suggest a mandate on equal time, that would mean the government would have to regulate private business, which is what the trump administration seems to be all about... the NFL, media networks...

But what really stands out here for me is that with all these serious problems going on, THIS is the kind of tweet Magoo sends out to the nation first thing in the morning... That he's pissed off that comedians keep making fun of him.

I'm sorry but I expect a stronger character from a president. Not some narcissist who's get's all butt-hurt and lashes at anyone who laughs at him.

Yep. Trump is a mess for sure. But he's your president isn't he?

Ya know, these late night shows are on YouTube too, and they have web sites... Sure you aren't cheating a little? ;)

Well, good for you debeda... I think a lot of people spend way too much time in front of the boob-tube. I average about 6 hours a week... My wife and I enjoy some of the late night comedy, I catch smatterings of Fox and CNN just to get a glimpse at the main influences on our society and I watch NFL on Sundays, which is really the only reason I even have a TV.
