All about Salvation
By Pastor Gary Boyd

Salvation relates to the entirety of man rightly divided and applied. We are spirit, soul and body. The Bible clearly divides between these, with verses relating exclusively to each area of our lives.

Salvation, in all these areas comes by deliberate wilful choice, with a choice to continue and follow our Lord, all with vital, evident fruits in your life.

What follows is not teaching as such, but lists of Bible verses that relate and apply to salvation in all three areas of our lives.

In the section under “Salvation of the soul”, I’ve included links to three full editions on this website dealing with counselling. These are most important for anyone needing counsel or help and for anyone giving counsel.

Salvation (spirit):

John 3:3 “Unless one is born again he will not even see the kingdom of heaven.”

John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

John 17:3 “This is eternal life, to know the only true God and saviour Yeshua the Messiah.

John 3:36 “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and He who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

John 10:27-28 “My sheep hear My voice and I know them and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.”

Romans 10:9-10 “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Yeshua, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved, for with the heart one believes to righteousness and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.”

Romans 1:16 “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Messiah, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also for the Greek (Gentile.)”

Romans 3:20 “By the deeds (works) of the law shall no flesh be justified in His sight.”

Romans 3:28 “We conclude that man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.”

Romans 6:23 “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Yeshua our Lord.”

Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works lest anyone should boast.”

Titus 2:11 “The grace of God that brings salvation, has appeared to all men.”

Hebrews 7:25 “He is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him…”

1 Corinthians 3:11 “For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Yeshua the Messiah.”

Acts 4:12 “There is no salvation in any other name under heaven given among men, by which we must be saved.”

Acts 2:21 “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

1 Corinthians 1:18 “The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

2 Corinthians 5:17 “If anyone is in Messiah he is a new creation; old things have passed away and behold all things have become new.”

1 Peter 1:23 “Having being born-again not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever.”

2 Peter 3:9 “…The Lord is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”

Mark 16:16 “He who believes and is baptised will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned.”

Matthew 7:13 “Enter by the narrow gate for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.”

Isaiah 43:11 I, even I, am Yahweh and besides Me there is no saviour.”

Salvation must be confirmed by water baptism and empowered by baptism in the spirit.

Adult Water Baptism by full immersion:

John 3:5 “Yeshua answered, ‘truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.’”

1 Corinthians 12:13 “By one Spirit we were all baptised into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.”

Acts 10:47-48 “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptised, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have? And he commanded them to be baptised in the name of the Lord.”

Acts 8:36-38 “Now as they went down the road, they came to some water, and the eunuch said, ‘see here is water, what hinders me from being baptised?’ Then Philip said, if you believe with all your heart, you may.’ And he said, ‘I believe that Yeshua Messiah is the Son of God…so he went down into the water and was baptised.’”

Acts 2:38 “Then Peter said to them, Repent and let every one of you be baptised in the name of Yeshua Messiah for (Lit=because of) the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

Acts 22:16 “And now, why are you waiting? Arise and be baptised, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.”

Romans 6:4 “We were buried with Him by baptism into death, in order that just as Yeshua was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.”

Galatians 3:27 “As many of you as were baptised into Messiah have on Messiah.”

Luke 3:16 “John answered and said to them all, ‘I indeed baptise you with water; but one is coming mightier than I, whose sandal straps I am not worthy to loose. He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”

Mark 16:16 “He who believes and is baptised will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned.”

Matthew 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you.”

Galatians 3:27, Colossians 2:12, Acts 8:38, Acts 2:41

Baptism in the Spirit:

Hebrews 6:1-2 Speaks of and lists the “doctrine of Messiah.” The doctrine of baptisms” is one of them. The word is plural!

John 14:16-17 “I will pray the Father and He will give you another Helper and He may abide with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive.”

Acts 2:4 “They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

Acts 2:18 “I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophecy.”

Acts 10:44-48 “While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word, and those of the circumcision who believed, were astonished because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Can anyone forbid water that these should not be baptised who have just received the Holy Spirit just as we have?’ And He commanded them to be baptised.”

Acts 19:2 “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed”? And they said, ‘we have not so much heard whether there is a Holy Spirit…When they heard this, they were baptised.’”

Acts 19:5-6 “When they heard this they were baptised in the name of Yeshua, and when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.”

Revelation 11:3 “I will give power to My two witnesses and they will prophecy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”

1 Corinthians 1:7 “Pray that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revealing of our Lord Yeshua Messiah.”

John 7:38 “He who believes in Me, as the scriptures has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

John 14:15-16 “If you love Me keep My commandments and I will pray the Father and He will give you another Helper, that He might abide with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him not knows Him.”

1 Corinthians 12:27-31 “Now you are the body of Messiah and members individually. And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues…but earnestly desire the best gifts.”

1 Corinthians 14:2-5 “He who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him, however in the Spirit, he speaks mysteries. But, he who prophecies speaks edification, exhortation and comfort to men. He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied…”

1 Corinthians 12:7-11 “The manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: To one is given the word of wisdom, through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things distributing to each one individually as He wills.”

Romans 8:16 “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit, that we are children of God.”

Salvation of the soul (not the spirit)

Romans 12:1-2 “I beseech you brethren (Those saved already) by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. Do not be conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the good, acceptable and perfect will of God.”

John 12:25 “He who loves his life (self) will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world, will keep it for eternal life.”

Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Messiah; it is no longer I who live, but Messiah who lives in me…”

Galatians 6:14 “God forbid that I should glory except in the cross of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, by whom the world has been crucified to me and I to the world.”

Ephesians 5:27 “He will present to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that it should be holy and without blemish.”

James 1:27 “…Keep oneself unspotted from the world.”

1 John 5:4 “For whoever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith.”

Revelation 3:16 “Because you are lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of My mouth.”

Salvation of the Soul

Salvation must touch and affect our three dimensions, spirit, soul and body. In terms of the spirit, this is “re-created” and made new at the new-birth. It is where the Spirit of God lives in our hearts and operates from.

Our soul (the realm of the mind and thinking) must be “renewed" as we move forward. This is where much has to be replaced and made new with godly thinking.

Our body has a future salvation associated with it. We will be transformed, made new with a supernatural body just the same as the body our Lord had after resurrection. This will happen at the rapture of the church, which is the “catching away” of the church to heaven.
