Yes it can and the miracle plant was outlawed around the great depression, Hemp is something that can save the world. People like Henry Ford knew it and tried telling the world but our government lead use to believe cannabis and marijuana were two different things and now other countries like Canada, Australia, and Israel are leading the way as an example for the USA, when it should be the other way around. Please Learn about this plant with an open mind and help save the world instead of being so at odds with each other, the only thing our government wants from us is what is left in our pockets, maybe I'm wrong but the way I see it is we need each other now more then ever.

I would hate to see how much hemp it would take to smoke to get high on. It also makes one of the best ropes for a lot of things in addition to all it's other uses.

Well in our state they have now OK'D hemp growing with a lot of regulations plus a lot of equipment to harvest it and then those who are willing to have storage for future. Like all things government gets into a product producer there is nothing but more rules regulations.

There is another plant that does all of the above legally. It's called the Coconut palm.

Does this coconut palm grow 4 X the rate of wood fiber, hemp does.

OK coconut palm but just where will these grow besides in the hot climates. WE need the hemp because of its wide area to grow. Not California, Florida etc.

You are so correct about the climate, but also what other plant can you produce that can grow in rows 4 inches apart and reach twenty to twenty-five feet in one growing season? It is amazing that what Henry Ford knew back in the 1920's and 1930's without technology that most of us with this wealth at our finger tips still can't figure out.

I'm glad you brought this topic up! Hemp oil can be used for many things we use petroleum for now. All the plastic crap in car interiors. Paint. Probably medical equipment. I understand it is an excellent eco friendly wood preservative for outdoor use. This is surely something both sides can agree on. All illegalities on growing it should be removed! And yeah, from what I understand one would likely be dead from asphyxiation if he smoked enough to get high. Besides, weed is on the way to being legal anyway. And no, I don't use it.

I have a posting under the topic "Presidential disconnect on pot" if you would care to check it out about the medical affects of what is happening to one of my friends right now, yes the country is finally seeing the light on the benefits we could have with hemp. If one wanted to get the "HIGH" off of hemp they could do so by extracting the oil but that would be senseless and much cheaper to just get some marijuana. I also don't smoke, but sure wish I could and the only reason I don't is because I would be jeopardizing my employment with a good carhaul job that I've have a pension and good benefits at. My hole life for the past two to three years have been studying and learning about this plant though, never thought I would reading or studying anything.

If you Google (Henry Ford and hemp) that's a good read, and it's out of print but I recently bought a book by Jack Herer "The Emperor Wears No Clothes" Cannabis hempseeds contain all the essential amino acids and essential fatty acids necessary to maintain healthy human life. No other single plant source provides complete protein in such an easily digestible form, nor has the oils essential to life in as perfect a ratio for human health and vitality. And to think people around the world and in our own country are dying due to poor nutrition, when this plant grows almost anywhere even in adverse conditions, the only one true enemy of this plant is the american's ideology, we have spent so many tax dollars trying to wipe out a species of plant that probably clothed Jesus and feed millions for millions of years and we can't figure out why so many other country's and cultures hate us.

Indeed! I like the very last part of your statement as well. One thing I have learned: if an individual has a problem with me then it might not hurt to take an honest look at myself. Works for entities as well. Something that often is not so easy to do, but a necessity, at least for me anyway. I wish that we as a nation could follow that principle.
Henry was quite a guy. I've mentioned his philosophy of labor relations and business on various conversations on this forum and it seems to go over heads. Your 3 years of study shows! Very knowledgeable. I hope people listen and something gets done quick!

YEA!!! Surprising for Ohio tho. I did read lots after googling henry last night. Very interesting stuff. Too bad the oil industry has had so much influence over the years. We would have had a different history. Didn't know ol Henry was so anti Semitic though...rather a shock.

I guess I'm not sure what anti-Semitic means, unless you are talking racist? But yes what a different and no doubt cleaner environment we would be living in.
