My son turned 21 last week, so we offered to take him and his girlfriend out to their restaurant of choice. They selected a trendy
new place that advertised comfort food. As a family we ordered three variations of mac and cheese, two tea cup size bowls of soup,
a sandwich made with one portobello mushoom, some fries, two milk shakes and a fried pb and j. We drank water. With a tip the
total was $150. Now, I do all the shopping, cooking and serving in my home. I know what this stuff costs, and in bulk it would be even
cheaper. Like maybe $10. Did they see us coming or what? Think I'll throw some tables on my back deck and put up a sign.

Wow! I hope it was good. And there I was complaining about having to pay 20 bucks for a pizza Saturday because my coupon was expired.

You know, it was good, but then again, its very hard to make mac and cheese not good. Its was modified school cafeteria food, just found it funny. Well, would be funny if it didn't cost so much. They could have topped it with squid ink and caviar...maybe a truffle or two...

I believe the "lefty" anti-business, over-the-top licensing, taxes, inspections, rules and regulations, ootw, although having been mostly negated over the past 7 months by the Trump administration (R), in America, hasn't yet seeped down to many of the different states Mom & Pop enterprises. Probably most of the $150.00 tab was still going directly into ObamaCare, the rapidly imploding, "lefty" well-Grubered American "wealth transfer" system. Go back in a few months to see what the hate Trump, anti Western free-market, mostly illegal (D)eport American business' "lefty" wasn't able to block of the promised "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN," Trump agenda in Congress, and "WE" may find middle-class monetary (R)ewards up the ying-yang!!!

Yeah, that was the girlfriend, what ya gonna do. And it was served with warm Fluff. Now, I have spent hours in the kitchen trying to wow them. Make bread, homemade pastas, complicated dishes. Think of the money I could have saved...

I was executive chef at a very nice restaurant for years. I am done with wowing people. I spoke to someone in the supermarket the other day; and they commented that I probably created wonderful dishes now that I was retired and had time on my hands. I smiled, reached in my cart and pulled out a frozen pizza.

Why don't you learn how to make your own pizza? It is not complicated.

Always have a couple of those on hand. Food is huge here as I have four teenage/adult children. I love to cook, but at all of 95 lbs, dont eat much. In a couple of years, it will just be me and a pot of soup. My husband prefers cookies, so he'll be on his own.

The true joy of eating out; watch someone else do the work and YOU can bitch about everything. Actually, I rarely gripe; it's just so nice to see someone else in that damn kitchen.

AND you can make a big mess, and get up and leave it! Dirty dishes, and all!
