Yes, Roy, I listened to Trump's speech to the U.N. And, just as you, I do my own thinking while determining if others deserve credence. The fact that people do not always align in thought does not speak to anyone's inability to think for themselves. People's viewing things differently is the point to a quote attributed to George Croly, an Irish poet, novelist, historian, and Anglican priest from the 19th century:

"There are few things more singular than the blindness which, in matters of the highest importance to ourselves, often hides the truth that is plain as noon to other eyes."

I already knew everyone on the right would disagree with me before I wrote the post.

China has been building up to surpass us for decades, thanks to the US manufacturers moving over there, thanks to capitalism usurping loyalism. Obama did try and curtail it and met with disapproval from China, understandable, but that doesn't mean they didin't respect him as a person, which one can do easily with Trump. China's locomotion hasn't slowed down.

China overtook the US as the largest economy in 2014, which, in terms of historical significance, can compare to the US surpassing Britain in real GDP in 1872.

By mid-2016, China’s real GDP was already 12% higher than that of the US.

At the end of 2015, China’s total manufacturing output represented 150% of the US or was equivalent to the combined total of the US and Japan.

China’s factory output would be as much as the sum of the US, Japan, and Europe in 10 years.

Now they are busy buying our real estate, knowing our constitutional laws and their military.

They surpass us in population, you see what I'm seeing?

Now your other references are who we are in conflict with, Putin/Russia, N.Korea, Iran, as far as Israel, and Muslims ...that's just BS.

As far as speeches went I thought it might have been his best, he made some valid points, I thought him mentioning the US doing the lion's share of things and now was time to work together and for other countries to step up a little more to pull their share, was good.

He went a little rogue from his written speech when calling Kim Jung-un rocketman was not in his own best interest, it was disrespectful and he only loses credibility not to mention following it up with his threat, as a schoolyard bully. It appears Trump can't resist that sort of demeaning dialog.

But all in all, not terrible.

He became wealthy because he started out wealthy and then learned the neat trick of ripping off all of his vendors and lenders--thus putting all of his bankruptcies off on them. The only thing that proves is that on top of everything else he has no moral character--ironic when you think that his biggest supporters are religious hypocrites such as yourself--you hate homosexuality but an unrepentant adulterer doesn't bother you in the least. That's classic padre and it just goes to show what pieces of human garbage you people really are. You should go pray with him sometime padre since you both seem to worship the same god--Trump!
