Do you know what this means? One of the biggest signs of all that happened in 1948. Jesus said it himself...

“From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates. Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away."

Well, fig trees don't grow so well around Michigan (unless they are buried, because a neighbor of mine does that), so it means nothing.

And yet when does Jesus establish his kingdom on earth? Let's go see....

Revelation 5:9-10, the people that Jesus will redeem at judgment will become kings and priests to God and reign on the earth

Zechariah 14:3–4, 9, in his second coming, the Lord [Jesus] will descend on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem and from there, he will be king over the whole earth;

Zechariah 14:16-17, the Lord [Jesus] will defeat all nations that would have come on Jerusalem and those that survive would have to go to Jerusalem every year to worship Jesus, and if any of the families of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship Jesus there will be no rain on them;

Zechariah 8:3, "I [Jesus] will return to Zion, and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem.”

Zechariah 8:20-24 like 14:16-17 states that people will come from around the world to worship Jesus.

Jeremiah 23:5, "Behold, the days come, says the Eternal, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth."

Luke 1:32, 33, He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto Him the throne of his father David and He shall reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of His Kingdom there shall be no end.

All the above passages clearly indicate that when Jesus returns he will establish his kingdom on the earth and not in heaven.

....and yet we read: "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away."

Jesus seems to be contradicting a lot of other verses, which verses to I believe? None of them mention fig trees.

Why did you deflect and not answer my question? The fig tree parable has NOTHING to do with the coming Kingdom that you changed the subject to.

I didn't deflect anything...to repeat...

"Well, fig trees don't grow so well around Michigan (unless they are buried, because a neighbor of mine does that), so it means nothing."

That is an answer.

Now answer, why does Jesus in conflict with so much scripture, what's your answer.

I answered his question:

"It's a parable about nothing", as most parables are....

This explains you to a T Dummy Boy...

Then the disciples came and said to him, “Why do you speak to them in parables?” And he answered them, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. For to the one who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. This is why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. Indeed, in their case the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says:

“‘“You will indeed hear but never understand, and you will indeed see but never perceive.” For this people's heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them.’

But blessed are your eyes, for they see, and your ears, for they hear. For truly, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it." Matthew 13:10-17

Can parables be interpreted in many ways?

And if so, why does God, use Jesus, to further confusion. And what light do you shed....but more dark messages that are meaningless.

Go back to sleep, the rest of us will face the world you left to itself...not taking any personal responsibility for any of it. It's just sin, and if everybody would just straighten up the world would be a great place. Is there religion that doesn't profess fealty to a omnipotent being, that doesn't say it's your fault, because I created you that way.

Well dude, it's YOUR fault, it's all on you. And telling me that can't hear the message because I'm not smart enough or I don't have an open heart to receive his majesty's messages is a big fat cop out. I repeat, it's all on God, to have created me to be confused by his message, not on me. I was created in his image, and apparently he is a big idiot. And you are too...

Garbage in...garbage in...

Can parables be interpreted in many ways? br br A... (show quote)

You're more than free to think what you want to think...it's called your God-given free will. Just remember that with your free will comes consequences. Why don't you give Jesus a try...I guarantee you'll be pleasantly surprised. It's as easy as ABC: A - Admit you're a sinner; B - Believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins; C - Call on the name of Jesus (Romans 10:13 - For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”)

Do you or I really have free will?

Yea, there's a lot of people who cried out God to stop some major storms...what an epic fail.
