I feel awful.

I was out in the woods today and I feel great, find I get kind of low if I sit around too much. Exersise makes all the difference, I believe, in how we age. Maybe something easier on the joints, like swimming, or you could go trendy and do tai chi. Well yes I would feel silly dancing in the park too, but what the hell.
I've always wanted to learn tai-chi. I've tried books and videos, but haven't had any luck. One of these days I'm gonna sign up for some lessons at a martial arts studio. It's the perfect exercise, as well as the most effective form of martial arts.

20 years ago I took tai kwan do, could never do it now with my lungs, but I loved it. I tried later to brush up with videos, but it is impossible. I may look into it too, Lake Placid is very new age, surely if they have hot yoga, they have tai chi. How is it the most effective? As in self defence? I'm a 95 lb woman, one of the reasons I have BIG dogs.

Same here. I have almost no cartilage in my knees. Can't remember the last time I was able to run somewhere.
Did you know they can fix that? My son had a knee with a non existent ACL. They took part of his hamstring, and made a new one. There was something with the miniscus that they fixed while they were in there. Hell, just go get new ones. It's that simple.
I know it's not that simple Mr. B. I'm being a smartass.

Tai-chi is a soft style of martial arts. It does not require brute force, since it uses balance and deceptive slow moves to disrupt enemy attacks. Similar to judo.

Grouse hunting is both cardio and fun. The best part is you HAVE to walk slow and stop a lot. Bring a folding chair with you and sit, enjoy the wildlife n then move some more.

What comes after the "Golden Age" when you are still alive and kicking? At 86 all the gold is gone, I think. I'm now thinking it is the "Lead Age", with immanent zero action.
Someone asked about flat bottom clouds: I always thought it was wind sheer from a wind current just under the clouds. "wings" could confirm that.
My heartfelt sympathies to Mr. B, and all the others on this thread!

Actually, it's caused by temperature gradients and humidity. Even though the air is humid, clouds cannot form above a certain temperature. the reason they are flat is because that is the lowest elevation that is cool enough for clouds to form.

I must say you retain a wealth of information, not being sarcastic either. My stepmother , God bless her, is slipping down that slippery slope. Last month while sitting around the campfire, she asked, Adam (my father) are the clouds out at night? After 75 years of night skies, you would think this would be hard to forget. While we still have our wits about us, let us be thankful for every day. And if we can pick on a few liberals as well, all the better. Its all good.

A few shots of 151 helps a lot. Makes the pain disappear for a few hours.
My favorite is B&B. The problem with it is, It makes me laugh for an hour or so.
And I guess at my age, I sourly do need a laugh once in a while. But dam Mr. B, retirement's not bad.
It's all that down time you have. That gets very boring in a heart beat.
But I keep myself busy.
I have learned to play the Key board, I write music, also poetry. I volunteer at my church. I also, still plow snow for all my neighbors in the winter. I help out at the VFW, I consul the elderly on the pit falls of the internet. I still keep my own yard up, mowing and racking. And I write a lot. I am now in the middle of writing a science fiction Book. I try to attend my grand children's school events. And I even find time for the wife and I to go to the casino and a movie every so often. Don't have much spare time.
Don't want any. As I said, Life is still good. And as long as God is with me, I got it made.
And yes, I will still fight for this country till my dying days.
