Spirit of God is defined by the word of God

There is much confusion about the effects of the holy spirit. It is taught that it makes you dance or feel good. That possessing it will have God give you stuff without earning it and people will agree with you. This is contrary to Matthew 5:11 & 12 and Luke 6:26. In Matthew 5:11 & 12 Jesus tells us we will be persecuted. In Luke 6:26 a woe is given to those who are popular in this world. Who would give a more accurate description of the spirit of God, someone who reads a translation that is 400 years old or the one who sent it? The parameters of the spirit of God are contained in the word of God. In 1 John 5:7 word and spirit are made equal.. In John 6:63 Jesus says word is spirit. In John 14:26, Jesus says the holy spirit will remind us of the words He spoke. This is important to His disciples and us. His disciples were young when they met Christ, but old when they wrote. The King James bible would not be translated from Greek and Hebrew manuscripts until 1600 years later. If we don’t read a King James bible, we don’t give the holy spirit anything to work with.
