I know a lot of people. They are a mix of religions, income levels, ages, political ideologies, ethnicities, etc and by far and large they are good honest people. Many of them are liberals and few if any support the behavior being evidenced here on OPP by either side. I can think of only 3 or 4 who support the commentary coming from DC or the MSM. These folks evaluate and consider the sources before deciding and I see little knee jerk reaction.
Of course the prevailing attitudes follow a regional pattern. Recently a I was in Birmingham, AL at the UAB medical complex giving a lecture and the mindset there was mixed. During the same visit I went to the VA there, which is located in the midst of the UAB complex. The staff there is mostly black and the prevailing attitude among them was anti. Anti everything. Anti Trump, right, left, center,.....anti everything and that they are owed. Owed for what and why was not clear, but that they were owed was the attitude. Many openly admitted they did the very minimum to retain their job and several boasted that the union protected them so let someone else work.....they didn't have to.
But other than that group I find most people to be thoughtful and able to keep control of their tongue. They have differing views on many issues but the one opinion they share is that it is improper to go to the lengths seen here to discredit others. They feel, as we say we do, that the more outrageous and egregious comments are coming from the fringes of both sides. I find that the majority of people are watching, wondering, and basically going along for the ride because they feel they have no say so in any outcomes.
Of those who dislike Trump, few paint him as he is being painted here.
I believe we allow ourselves to be worked up over noise from the few who agitate for agitation's sake.
It'a sad to see good people here lower themselves to the lowest common denominator.

Great post, Vette. I would have to be honest and say I've been in on more than a couple of those. But the really bad ones I stay pretty much out of. There are good people on the left as there are on the right. Those on both sides are standing back and listening and watching. Strong minds and sound voices of reason.
But there are those few on both sides that are freaking nut cases. It seems like there are many of them, but not compared to the US population. Some will call me crazy on here, but I believe Antifa, BLM, Nazis, WS, the racist and bigots are all being funded by Soros, Clinton, and Obama's forces. They will destroy, deligitimize, lie, and cheat to keep their power and money. They are dividing us, and pitting us against each other. These people are seriously evil, corrupt, Sob's that will stop at nothing until they are completely erradicated......
