Good ideas that will never happen . To many special interest with ex politicians lobbying for them .
Ban lobbyist . After our fat cat politicians realize their money tree has died they might actual become
above board in their decision making . #6 wouldn't float . If we went back on the gold standard China
could call their note . If they did then they would hold all the international monies for who knows how
long . Just sayin .

Lets all add one more item each to your list . Just to see where it goes. I'll start.
12) Ban any federal involvement what so ever in education .
Lets see where this goes . ( Power to the people at the local level.

Next . Someone add # 13) to the list . This could be open to some fine ideas
to all already good list .

Thanks guitarman . Good post .

Good addition . Go to flat tax and the irs could be downsized to a couple of hundred
bean counters .

Isn't it interesting that this amendment came into being alongside the Federal Reserve .
We the people have been hogtied ever since .

#1 & 2 All federal positions including judges subject to term limits. Civil Service is abolished and government employees are subject to the same criteria prevailing in industry.

#3 California stays -- Any state acting in contravention to Federal constitutional issues to be subject to martial law control until a resolution is achieved. This includes immigration, interstate commerce, interaction with Foreign Sovereignties by entering into treaties and trade agreements without Federal approval.

Strike #4 and substutute: All secret societies (CFR, Bilderberger, Trilateral, Skull and Bones, Masons et al.) are illegal and must disband or provide verified full disclosure of all proceedings.

#8 Alter to define natural born citizen as having two citizen parents and born on US territory (include foreign US military bases and embassies). Any child born to illegal alien parents on US soil does not obtain citizenship, and this is retroactive. (The principle here is that the criminal should not benefit from his crime. Permitting their children to have citixzenship gives them the benefit of remaining in this country and future benefits for children who shouldn't have been here to begin with). That child is subject of the same sovereignty as his parents. The child of an illegal alien and a citizen is a citizen but is not natural born and cannot be president.

#11 alter to read: Islam is banned from the US, all adherents of that cult convert or emigrate. Any concealed continuance of this cult will be dealt with in the manner of Tomás de Torquemada.

I prefer a per capital tax, where we all pay the same amount. No tax credits and no deductions. Your check is do Jan 1, 2018. A per capita tax is not tied to income, so it doesn't punish hard workers/ big earners.

I agree with some of your points, and I would add a few more

1. English is the Official language for all government and judicial business. If a defendant requires an interpreter, then the defendant pays if they are found guilty or lose the civil case.

2. End tax exemptions for ALL political pacs, unions, special interest groups and lobbyists. If they want to support an issue or candidate, they pay for that support themselves.

3. All firearms must be licensed and insured.

4. A surtax is placed on all political ads for both candidates and issues, equal to the cost of the commercial.

5. All radio and TV stations licensed by the government must provide equal access for opposing views

6. No tax reductions for any business that does not produce 50% of their products in the USA, like the trump cabal, but minimal corporate tax for companies that produce 90% or more of products domestically.

7. All veterans with service connected disabilities and injuries receive no cost 'cadillac' health care, all veterans who have non service connected health problems, like obesity, smoking, drugs, alcohol and carelessness, pay the same as the the general public.

8. Wage cap removed from Social Security, and all income is taxed from dollar one, however the rate should be lowered.

9. All current laws for the judicial code and IRS must be reviewed and out dated laws must be removed from the books, and federal law will supercede all state laws.

10 .Bill of Rights and constitution are revised in clear, concise wording, without ambiguities in interpretation.

11. Supreme court justices are limited to 12 year terms and 1/3 are replaced with every presidential election.

In my view, the odds of actually creating a Constitutional Convention in the next 20 years is zero. While the suggestions offered upthread would be useful, and I support many of them, all of the efforts put to developing these lists are simply fine ideas that will go nowhere. My own wish list is included!

An Article V Convention of states IS NOT a constitutional convention. It is simply one of two procedures specified by Article V for proposing amendments.

OK, it is a convention for proposing amendments to the Constitution as I read Art.V literally. In either case, the door will be open for a majority to seize control of the agenda and pass whatever proposals they wish. This I still call a Constitutional Convention, for that is its intent.

How so? Under one procedure, a proposed amendment/s must be passed by a 2/3rds majority in BOTH houses of congress, then the proposed amendment/s must be ratified by the legislatures of 3/4ths of the states.

Under the other procedure, a proposed amendment/s must be passed by 2/3rds of the state legislatures, then the proposed amendment/s must be ratified by 3/4ths of the state legislatures.

A Constitutional Convention is one in which a constitution is framed, written, signed and ratified. An Article V convention merely proposes amendments, it does not write or rewrite a constitution.

Regardless of those details, Article V reads a definition, first of the congressional procedure, and then says Or a similar procedure for the states, and only then says they shall call a convention for proposing amendments to the Constitution... There is no differentiation between the two methods at this point in Article V, so either one is a Constitutional Convention. Two methods under one label. If usage makes them different despite the word sequence in the amendment I have no knowledge of it. What is the rationale for vehemently stating a difference anyway?
