BTW, I am not dependent. I worked for 50 years and made my own way and took care of those I was responsible for. I wouldn't put another nickle in the fucking rigged game of the stock market. I am just lucky I didn't put all my eggs in that sewer hole. I invested in real estate and have done quite well.

Good luck because the crash is coming!

I quest you have a better plan or are you just on the insurance pay roll. The republicans have a plan to get rid it all together with no plan. The problem is there is nobody who fights for it,there's road blocks everywhere in life.and the number one is the people who run the government.Slavery isn't over, just a different form.

Why does the government have to have a plan? The government would better spend their time in removing the abusive elements of the insurance industry and leave the planning to the free market. Most of those abuses have been enacted, in law by special legislation, obtained through bribery of our Congress people (they call it campaign contributions).

This constant emphasis on "fighting" is asinine, we get lip service designed to lull us while our personal freedoms and liberty are stolen under the guise of taking care of us. We don't need our representatives to fuight, we need them to do their jobs. I am not a baby and neither are the insurance companies; make them compete and eliminate the secrecy under which they negotiate deals, which conceal the true costs of the medical attention provided.

The evidence is available world wide that we are being ripped off by the medical/pharmaceutical/insurance combines and there is no Ombudsman in Congress to take our part. The problems with our medical insaurance system are the direct responsibility of the Congress, which colluded with it, instead of regulating it. Now these same knaves want to take total control of our medical care and our lives.

Not so. Wasn't the government holding the purse strings? Didn't the citizens elect to have the government administer all aspects of the health care programs?

Turning over total control of health care and other personal responsibilities like protection, self-preservation, etc., as is common in Europe and even here has its inevitable consequences.

Who gave the doctors the right to interfere with Charlie's parent's decision to seek medical attention elsewhere? Was that not enforced by the power of the government? Why have those doctors not been charged with attempted murder and eventually murder of this child since it was by their action that the needed, potentially life saving medical attention, was delayed until it was too late?

Government controlled Socialized medicine is directly responsible and any claptrap about it was the doctors interaction with the child's parents is total bull. Where did the authority, to prevent the parents from removing the child from their indifferent care or taking the child out of the country come from, if not the government?

The lack of prosecution for this murder tells you that it is government sanctioned. This is precisely why the government should never have any say in our medical care other than to regulate the allied industries just as they do any other.

Gee, Can'tSEE, Medicare for All would be no more government run health CARE than the current Medicare system is now. It is simply how health CARE is paid for, as in single payer. It would be administered just like Medicare is now. Have you ever asked any beneficiary of Medicare how they like it and if the government has ever interfered in their health CARE other than to pay for it? My now 88 year old Dad started having heart trouble 4 years ago, was in ICU twice, wound up having stents and last month have a pace maker put in. In ALL that 4 years NO government bureaucrat EVER contacted him, told him what he could or could not get, or where he could get it. YOU don't know what the fuck your talking about, your just parroting the myths and propaganda of private, for profit health INSURANCE corporations that are deathly afraid of losing their ability to RAPE the healthy people for their obscene profits with which to pay their executives BILLIONS in multi-MILLION dollar salaries, BILLIONS in 20-25% administration costs and wage BILLION dollar propaganda...er...advertising campaigns lying to gullible sheople like you how evil single payer is and it is government run health CARE which IT IS NOT!

What we taxpayers should be demanding is an accounting of the $6.5 TRILLION in taxpayer money the Pentagon cannot account for from their continual illegal, unConstitutional, immoral WARMONGERING against sovereign nations.

People the world over, it seems, are rediscovering the absolute fact that others do not want to pay for their care.

And if others pay, the conditions are always set by the payer.. not the receiver.

And, that, dear friends, will always be the case... always.

It is amazing to me that all you grandstanders professing such concern for a terminally ill child using this tragedy politically. Right-wing politicians and commentators are wielding his tragic case as a crude cudgel against the public provision of health care as if it were the British NHS sentencing him to die. IGNORING the fact that he was terminally ILL.

"I stand with Charlie Gard and his parents,” House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) posted on Facebook on July 13. “Health care should be between patients and doctors. Government has no place in the life or death business.” President Trump, meanwhile, because of the rising attention to the child’s plight among his base and their news sources, including Fox News, offered to “help” the child via Twitter. On Rush Limbaugh’s show, Vice President Pence opined, “We hope and pray that little Charlie Gard gets every chance, but the American people oughta reflect on the fact that for all the talk on the left about single-payer, that’s where it takes us.”

All the hypocritical rhetoric and showboating while simultaneously attempting to dismantle the health-care safety net, which helps ensure that people don’t die simply because they are poor and you idiots here on OPP against universal health care can't see the fallacy in your argument. Trump’s hypocritical bullshit is infuriating given his attacks on the kind of scientific and medical research that would make life better for children like Charlie. His proposed budget would slash funding for the National Institutes of Health by $5.8 billion. It would also cut Medicaid, which covers 39 percent of American children, by $800 billion; the Senate's version of the health care bill makes other devastating cuts to the program. Meanwhile, the U.S. infant mortality rate is already significantly higher than the rates in Europe and other developed parts of the world. Asshole Ryan wants to turn Medicare into a voucher program.
You goddamn hypocritical idiots here on OPP arguing against a single payer Medicare for All using the life of a terminally ill child, yet in the same breath want to deny health CARE to MILLIONS here in the US because they can't afford it or afford to buy ridiculously expensive health INSURANCE that may or may not pay for a POTENTIALLY life saving treatment for the sake of their goddamn bottom line that is even if the high...ridiculously high...deductible can be afforded. We deny, delay health CARE and sentence people to death EVERYDAY in the US because they cannot afford it because you greedy fuckers are afraid ONE dime of your tax money might goes for someone YOU deem NOT worthy of medical CARE. But, BY GOD, there's always plenty of money to wage continual illegal, unConstitutional, immoral warmongering against sovereign nations that kills 100's of thousands of innocent children. And BILLIONS for corporate welfare.

Unfortunately Buffalo, I have run into several instances where Medicare didn't cover the needed procedure and since medicare did not produce any paperwork on that procedure my secondary insurance also didn't pay, I ended up footing the total cost. On the larger stuff like stents and heartwork, they were fine but it defintely doesn't cover everything. After one procedure my doctor required one month of heart monitoring, Medicare would pay only for one day because their medical board insisted this was all that was required and of course my secondary used this as an excuse to not cover the rest. One month's worth of monitoring gets to be very expensive.

Charlie Gard's doctors refused to allow him to be treated elsewhere and given that they believed he was going to die anyway, what business did they have in refusing to allow somewone else to attempt to treat the child? It was going to be done at no cost to NHS and by refusing to permit treatment they condemned that child. There is no hypocrasy involved -- the government and its medical minions passed sentence of execution on Charlie.
