Many extreme racist, anti-Semitic, and fascist posts are made on One Political Plaza. Some of those posters put those that have the right to respond to their anti- American values and attitudes on the ignore list. I am a strong believer in freedom of speech, and the pen, but in order for it to work, it has to be for everybody. If a poster on OPP puts his thoughts and beliefs out there , people that oppose them, should be able to respond. If not, what is the value of OPP? If it serves any purpose, it should be a place where folks of different ideas, faiths, races and political ideologies have a chance to exchange ideas. The plaza should never have red lights and stop signs. Those posters that have ignore lists appear to be cowards that can't stand opposition. They would be far more comfortable in a country like North Korea where nobody has the right of free speech or even free thought!

lies, and policies that cause the citizens of this country great pain and suffering.
All this infighting started when the elections began and liberals and conservatives started degrading each others opinion. We will never solve anything if we don't look at the big picture and come together to fix what has been slyly manufactured to separate us over time so we can not agree. I have two people on ignore simply because I have never heard them make a positive statement. As far as I can tell about 15 people have me on ignore. Some people simply don't like to hear that they aren't right...

I think you're one of those people your speaking of in saying they just don't like to hear that they arn't right. In your case that means right people, which when they tell you the trutht is what you mean by "I never heard them make a positive statement". I would know that because I am one of the people who have put you on the ignore list. I kept trying to warn you that you were on the verge of being put on my ignore list and tell you how you were being unreasonable and uncooperative, but you just persisted with your nasty brain-dead nonsense. Then you extended the old Olive branch and I gave you another chance explaining how if you made no changes you would wind up back on it again. Of course with your lack of self-awareness you were back on it again in no time flat. The fact that you're on the ignore list of 15 people is just a result of your bad karma, not that there is anything with them. When I get put on someone's ignore list. It is because they don't like my efforts to make them deal with the truth and facts that they continually ignore, but instead only insults and mock, making my efforts to get them to stick to the obvious facts as futile as trying to nail Jell-O to the wall.

I agree. However, for the folks on here that are doing nothing more than looking for a fight, They should be removed. I have talked many times on here, and even had folks tell me I was wrong. They did so with repect most of the time. I can deal with that, and at times even learn something from it. I left OPP for a year or os not long ago, and have been thinking I wasted my time coming back on here. It is hard to find a good thread, that has people working from both sides to find an answer for whats wrong in this nation.
With all the people on here, we can make a difference, if we really try. As I thought when I first came across OPP, This looks like a place where people can work together, and show DC how to get things done. We should be setting the example and not following the one given by DC. We can find answers that are welcomed by both sides, and then write bills to submit to congress.
Bills that make sense, rather than bills that turn law abiding folks into criminals over night. Even out the ideas of what is and isn't a hate crime. Force the government to follow the constitution, and set new guidelines, term limits, and life time appointments. After all, WE THE PEOPLE run this nation. Or at lest we should.

I am a retired chef. If I had staff who ran my restaurant like WE THE PEOPLE run this country; (repeatedly re-electing the same unhung scoundrels time after time after time and then wondering why nothing changes,) I would fire us.
The responsibility ultimately lies with ignorant, apathetic, immature voters who won't take the time to research the candidates or get involved in their own damn government. How many people do you know who have no idea who their state representatives and Senators are; or their county commissioners, or their US Congressman or Senator? They are completely ignorant or misinformed about the law and the Constitution. They can tell you everything that happened on "Survivor," but have no idea how their representatives voted last week, or who those representatives are.
Idiots who oppose voter registration, who think that anyone who can fog a mirror should be allowed to vote at least once.
I am reminded of the latter days of the Roman Empire, when Rome became a polyglot of "diversity," where anyone could vote, and did so. The politicians figured out that as long as they provided "bread and circuses" they could do whatever they damn well pleased. The masses were fat, dumb and happy.
