Krocodil maybe the world's most dangerous drug.

This drug has been big in Russia and the former Soviet Republics. A cheap high that eats your flesh. Depending how it is made and it is made with codeine and then is mixed with various other ingredients, addicts can be detected because they smell like gasoline. At a tenth of the price of heroin it is the drug of choice when you are poor.

Sounds like it's straight from hell. Like crack and meth.

National Geographic, I think had a program where they traveled with Addicts from the Former Soviet Republic of Georgia. I only saw a small part of it, it is eye opening. If an addict can get codeine, he can mix it it up with any number of things and make Krocodil in half an hour. Things like gasoline, then they inject it. It makes heroin look like nothing. The key to stopping it is controlling the supply of codeine.

If our liberal friends wish to be frightened of Russian anything, this is it.

I am tired of hearing about addicts. They are addicted to this and to that. They made a choice and they decided to use it. When they get sick or die, they have nobody but to blame but themselves. I know this sounds heartless but what can you do with these people? If you try to help them, they will improve for a short period of time and then they are right back in the habit of using again. There is no end to the cycle. People who work hard have pay for these sickos by paying more taxes, they bankrupt medical services by landing up in the hospital time after time and the enormous cost of law enforcement, jails and court costs. They do a tremendous amount of damage to families, our culture, etc.

Any of these freaks that are caught near schools, children and old people, with the intent to rob them and hurt them, should be arrested, tried in a court of law and executed in a swift manner. If the message gets out that our society does not tolerate the sale, or illegal use of drugs, the usage rate will go down. It is not a panacea, but it will work to a great extent.

Now! Let's hear how bad of a solution this is and how we can keep wiping their asses. I have some towels for the crybabies to cry on and an open ear to hear, "Hey Man this and Hey Man that!" One true fact in all this is nothing ever gets done, nothing ever improves and the criminal element keeps getting richer and richer at the expense of our culture.

I am generally as hardnosed as you on things like this, but too many families are losing children to drugs. Once someone is hooked, trying to save them is tough. What happened in Georgia, Russia, etc. is a warning to us. Keeping people from ever trying drugs is key. A lot of addicts got started because they were prescribed opiates for pain after an injury. What ever the reason if you do not want your neighborhood to become crack alley or Krocodil Creek I suggest you broaden your opinions. I am not saying you are wrong. I am saying it is complicated. More complicated than you seem to realize.

My reason for posting this topic is to hopefully learn something from what has happened elsewhere.

Son of Witless,

People who become addicted to opiates as a result of a legal prescription, I have sympathy for as people. When I was in college, I knew several friends who made the choice to use drugs and become part of the drug culture. Some of these young people are dead. Most of these kids went to good schools, came from good famalies and these same kids made good grades and graduated in the top of their graduating classes. They knew better; however, they made these choices anyway. I know w/o a doubt they knew better, because I was in the same class where illicit drugs were covered and the negative effects they cause personally, to famalies and to our culture. I knew this one guy name Jim and I will never forget him as long as I live as a human being. He dated this young lady that I knew very well and had as a friend. Jim would get drunk and stay drunk for days. The young lady would always make excuses for him and tolerate his behavior. He also got hooked on marijuana, heroin and other types of drugs. Marty, the lady, would never demand any accountability from Jim. It was always poor Jim this and poor Jim that. She finally got rid of him. The sad thing was she got hooked up with another guy like Jim, but this one was more abusive. I can remember when she had a fat lip, black eyes and bruises on her body that stuck out like a sore thumb. I got tired of putting up with it and moved on with other friends. I heard years later she had been married twice and pulled some time in prision for drug possession and distribution.

I have no sympathy for these people who use drugs and have their lives ruined by drugs. They knew better and still made a lousy choice. It seems overly complicated because we are too tolerant of this kind of behavior. With all things being equal, it is sad and, as you say, it is a complicated subject. But I will say this, we are far too tolerant of drugs in our society and the people who use them as well as those who benefit from their misery.

Look at the drug infested cities in America and the worst Kocodil ravaged parts of the former Soviet Republics. They are there and you have to deal with them because they are a rot on society. With Krocodil the direct solution is to control the supply of codeine. Each part of the problem demands practical solutions. At least with Trump we have a little National Will again to search for solutions.

The human will is not strong enough to win many victories over drugs. It sounds easy to say just don't do it. U r very misinformed on the subject. The next time u get diareah , will it away. Just don't allow it to be in u . Just say no. And I'm sure u won't need any meds.
