I can say the same thing Zem. In the 90s I was raising a family and working. I voted but didn't pay much attention to what was really going on as I'm sure most of us we're. I've learned my lesson in the last few years and have been watching very closely. I don't like what I see. No.....not at all.....

I was shocked into a perpetual state of awareness on 9/11.

My daughter was manager of an office on the 36th floor of a Manhattan skyscraper on S. Park Ave., immediately across from the Empire State Building, with a clear view south to the World Trade Center, and could see the attacking planes as they collided full speed into those towers. She called me on her cell phone, and told me to turn the TV on; something I'd rarely ever watched, up to that point in my life. (I always had FM radio on, listening to classical music.)

I've never turned the TV off since that day. Cable news is almost always running in the background, although it is now approaching unbearable, because they all insist on editorializing, and all lie. Major events, however, they do cover live.

When on-line, while perpetually waiting for the other shoe to drop, I check the headlines on Drudge Report ever ten minutues or so, because they get News events up faster than anyone else.

Jesus' admonition to His followers to "Watch, know the signs of the times," is a command to which I now fully subscribe, and with far greater understanding than before.

LBJ, next to Obama was the most corrupt President we have had.
He moved the money from Social Security to the "General Fund" which is a slush fund.
Jimmy Carter decided that once immigrants reach the age of 65 they are eligible for Social Security,
even though they have not been paying into it all their life.

I have often wondered ???????
What if LBJ and Peanuts and other politicians had not screwed with SS how much money could a person currently drawing $1000 a month now draw?

Here's my question with SS. Why is it if you choose to collect SS early you only get half. Whereas if you wait til 65 or 67 whichever it is you get the full amount. It's our money. Why shouldn't we get all of it if we want to take it early?

The money you have paid in is gone. It is no longer there.
It was used by people drawing SS while you were paying in.
What you draw is money being paid in by younger people who are still working and paying in.
There are fewer and fewer of these younger people working and paying into the pot--which LBJ took away 50 years ago.
So the money "and" the pot are both gone.

IMO, they would rather you take the money when your health is in a downward spiral, in hopes that you will never
collect what you put into S.S.. I'm still amazed that they have developed so many programs based on S.S., the money the working-class
had deducted out of their paychecks, for people that never worked a day in their life. So, not only do they get us to pay for the parasites
while we work, through taxation, they give them a cut of what the working-class had deducted for their future, and pay them a retirement
wage for the rest of their life. Imagine asking some of these people what their occupation was. And you wonder why S.S. hasn't
approved a COLA for retirees!

Politicians, primarily liberals have used the SS money to buy votes for themselves by giving it to people who don't deserve it.
This will go on as long as there are liberals, progressives, democrats, socialist, communist, etc.

Yes, there a lot of RINOs but most politicians are lawyers and I don't trust lawyers.
I have never refereed to a Judge as "Your Honor" and never will.

The money was used by politicians who used it for their social experiments and the money is gone and al that is left is a bunch of IOU's there is no money and has nothing to do with being used by others for retirement. That money was stolen pure and simple. I read once where the annual income for retirees would be many times higher if the money had not been touched and allowed to grow interest but it was stolen instead.

There would be no difference.

The amount of the check is determined by one's 40 highest earning quarters of employment, not the amount of money in the fund.

Yeah? Where does bald rank?

I assume this question is asked tongue in cheek, how some ever, here's a semblance of a response:

There are 34 Bible Verses about Baldness.

Leviticus 13:41 seems the most straight forward.

If you become bald on any part of your head, you are still clean. (Meaning it is not a curse or disease, but natural/genetic).

The most interesting passage: (2 Kings 2:23-24)

The text reads, “From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some youths (young street thugs, not children) came out of the town and jeered at him. ‘Go on up, you baldhead!’ they said. ‘Go on up, you baldhead!’ He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the LORD. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths.”

God did not look kindly upon His elder prophet being mocked and ridiculed.

That message would be lost upon many of today's youth, as would the advise to "be seen and not heard, unless asked, in the presence of your elders.

Many of the other verses refer to sun worshipers, men who shaved their heads in a round circle in honor of the sun, which was idolatry...

For those exercising a mental "spellcheck" - "chucking" corn, is wrong.- I mispelled that... It's "shucking" corn, and, anyway, they were actually "detasseling" the corn. It was a long time ago, early to mid 1980s.

"They" have been trying to get rid of God for four thousand years and counting, bahmer.

SWMBO and I do not fit that mold. We have no TV, grow our own produce which we trade to the neighbor for fresh eggs, and, unfortunately do not have kids. We have a large family of kids that we have worked with as they learned how to get past a childhood of abuse and they are now "our boys" Our alarm system barks at trespassers (for some reason 2 150 pound dogs seem to discourage trespassers) still practice at our own target range as often as possible, go to church every Sunday help deliver the local extra food to those who need it, and have had a number of people we did not know at the time stay with us while their furnaces water pumps or flooding was being repaired. In other words we are typical country folk who are Christians and proud of it.

I was generalizing, NPP, based on national surveys of pop culture.

IMHO, very few conservative Christians would meet that criteria, especially not on pornography.

Most healthy, sane mature people, and especially Christians would understand the wisdom of being a monogamous, heterosexual marital participant, rather than observing others on film.

My own home alarm system resides in two very vocal African Guineas.

Their volume, per pound is extraordinary!
