Why didn't that apply when Obama was President? His perpetual litany was that it was Bush's fault, never once did he say it's my problem.

No matter what came out of Obama's mouth--current economies always belong to the president on hand. That should make you happy because unless Trump does something horrendous to screw it up the economy should continue to grow and if not good GDP numbers at least produce good numbers otherwise, like our latest jobs report.

Oh, and one more thing, I know of no president who was knocked out when the economy was humming. That may be the only thing that can save your hero's ass...

Jesus Linda, you are living in LaLa land. You know, when I first started chatting with you what struck me was how level headed you were even if you were a bit naive. Now, with exactly no evidence, you are making claims crediting Trump with fiscal achievements, even if he knew what he was doing would take well over a year to implement and see any results. And NAFTA effects the private sector--it has no financial impact on our fiscal condition--unless you want to claim that it brought in more or less revenue to the treasury. Did it?

You people are sitting here and making it up as you go simply to act as cheerleaders for a president who has yet to have any kind of achievement. That's sad Linda, that's incredibly sad...
Jesus Linda, you are living in LaLa land. You know... (show quote)

And with the democrat caterwauling and obstructionism to everything he attempts, it may take longer than a year but it will happen! Perhaps his crowning achievement so far has been the appointment and confirmation of Justice Gorsuch in spite of all the efforts of shuck shumer and co. But harryboy reid did the dems in with his nuclear option so their tantrums over garland's nomination came to naught and the Republic is blessed with Justice Gorsuch and his learned opinions and total integrity. No constructionism for him; back to the Constitution to derive an opinion.

Of course, the liberal problem originally stemmed from biden and shumer's scheme to derail Judge Bork's nomination when they decided that he couldn't be confirmed during the last year of a Presidents term. That turned out to be handy for the Republicans in denying garlands nomination and caused near apoplexy in the liberal ranks. Liberals never seem to realize that all too often what goes around comes around. Oh well

And Trump is getting rid of illegal aliens, and working to return jobs to our shores. The previous oaf seemed to delight in doing everything possible to harm the nation, Trump's attitude of genuine patriotism stands him in good stead. He has finally gotten an overhaul of the VA underway and the IRS is under intensified scrutiny for their unlawful actions against the Tea Party. It is a delight to have a genuine president working for our Republic instead of an agent dedicated to serving soros and destroying our heritage. Put that in your pipe and smoke it, sadsack.

And I trust Trump and his cabinet and administration with our national finances far more than I did with a community organizer who knew nothing about anything and surrounded himself with equally unendowed dupes. At least we have a plan for meeting our goals rather than a slacker-in-office who was best at planning expensive vacations. How about $1.3 billion squandered on his globe trotting vacations. Yeah, the country triumphed when we elected Trump and he will do far better should the democrats stop their unwarranted attacks on everything he does. But that assumes you are desirous of returning our country to its shining best.

That and being a genuine patriot in contrast to the putrid predecessor that was anything but. Your ex hero couldn't even say the Pledge of Allegiance, couldn't/wouldn't fix the VA or turn our educational decline around; in fact it started with him. The people desired a leader they could be proud of and we finally have one; dedicated to correcting the many malfunctions that were left to him to fix

Thank You, Jean, well said... Nor would he even wear the flag pin until there was so much controversy over it.. How many times did he fail to put his limp wrist and arm over his chest when the National Athem was played etc..

The putrid predecessor as you referred to him and fits was never for this country.. He diid more to dismantle it and our military in an effort to intentionally weaken it.. His dismissal of key Generals speak loud and clear!!! Stellar recognition for their efforts and tasks achieved until that individual strips them of everything..He repulses me in the face of those true warriors of peace doing the job that would have shut down His buddies over sea... He assisted ISIS and Al Qaeda and any number of terrorist coming into our country with his open arms policy for them and against this Nation!!

He knew exactly what his mission was by those whom placed him and none of it. was for the bettterment of We the People or our Country!!!

Jean,

Just a quickie for part of your post..

Obama Signs VA Reform Bill into Law
The Hill - President Obama on Thursday signed a $16.3 billion bill to overhaul the troubled Veterans Affairs Department, saying the country had a “sacred duty” to protect its military service members.

The bill, approved by Congress last week, would allow veterans to seek private care outside VA facilities, and would also provide money for the VA to hire more doctors and nurses. The effort came after reports that some veterans had waited months to get care from the VA.

“As a country, we have a sacred obligation to serve you as well as you served us,” Obama told an audience of military service members, veterans and their family members at Fort Belvoir in Virginia. “We are going to spend each and every day working to do right by you and your families.”

Veterans Affairs chief Robert McDonald attended the ceremony, along with House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee Chairman Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Rep. Michael Michaud (Maine), the top Democrat on the House Veterans' Affairs panel. Reps. Pete Gallego (D-Texas.) and Raul Ruiz (D-Calif.) were also present.

GOP Reps. Jeff Denham (Calif.) and Rep. Jackie Walorski (Ind.), who are both members of the House Veterans' Affairs panel, also attended the ceremony. House Veterans' Affairs Chairman Jeff Miller (R-Fla.), however, was not at the ceremony.

An excellent speech. But nothing ever happened and nobody in the VA was fired or replaced as a result of either their inability or disinterest. The speech had such a nice ring to it that it was obvious that obama knew what the American people wanted and expected for their vets. But as the old saying goes, talk is cheap. It took President Trump some time to get the ball rolling even with a new VA Secretary but suffice it to say that things are, in fact, finally looking up for vets.
Thanks for the comment!

If you will check our national educational achievements when obama came into office, the U.S. placed third or fourth in the world depending upon which subject was being rated. When he left office, we had declined to half way down the list of third world nations. Kids no longer are taught cursive writing, how to tell time on a clock with hands, many have extremely low reading comprehension, can't make change and have no idea of any scientific skills or of history. I call that a disaster. All too often today, people don't even know what happened historically this century, much less last century. I am reminded of a visit a retired Air Force Colonel made to a high school to give a lecture. It turned out he was Tibberts co-pilot on the mission the Enola Gay made when we dropped the first Atomic bomb. The student body president introduced him as Col so and so who fought in world war eleven. That sir, is total dumb cluck!! Completely stupid, disinterested and insulting.

And Bernie Sanders wanted to send all the kids to college with free tuition. In the first place, well over half have no business even being on a college campus based on their high school achievements. If they want to pursue a secondary education many would profit from a trade school where they can learn skills they can use to make a living in the future. But college? Absolutely incredible; we should model our education system after the one used by the Germans wherein they make an early determination as to whether a student is up to the rigors and discipline required for a college education. If they are, they are sent to a college prep school. If not, they go to a trade school that also has an apprenticeship program so that when the kid graduates high school he can start to make a living with a professional skill. But sitting a bunch of disinterested blobs in front of a prof is nothing more than occupying a seat that someone else could profitably use. It wastes the time of the "students" and of the instructor and is a total waste of taxpayer money.

It was barely part of the conversation a few years ago...and that's just one tiny part of a huge problem that always results from too much centralization. We've been letting this go on for decades. It pays to have a clear perspective. We have haven't yet begun to fight...you can bank on that. All that old money is for a world government...run by them or their suitable representatives, of course...which means it's against us, and by extension, Trump.
