I grew up in the SW corner of Arkansas. Texarkana is split by the state line.
I could walk across the street where I lived and be in Texas.
As a child, my brothers and I caught catfish from Red River and all the cutoff lakes formed by the river.
We also caught other fish which weren't so good to eat:
