How Jesus taught us to pray
It is called the Lord’s prayer. It is really how Jesus taught us to pray. The prayer between Jesus and God is in the 17th chapter of John. Concerning the Lord’s prayer, we should notice that the concept of I, me, or my is not mentioned once. The only person singled out is God. We are all equal in the eyes of God.
OUR father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be THY name
THY kingdom come THY will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Give US this day OUR daily bread
And forgive US OUR debts as WE forgive OUR debtors
And lead US not into temptation
But deliver US from evil
For THINE is the kingdom and the power and the glory
Forever AMEN
The way we pray in churches is not how Jesus said we should pray in the 6th chapter of Matthew. Prayer should be between us and God. There are no public closets.
