Well, Attorney General Sessions lied under oath to the Senate about his meetings with the Russian ambassador/spy Sergey Kislyak during the campaign. (He also lied about it on his security clearance forms. And now it looks like he’s lied about it a third time!) As a result, he had to recuse himself from anything involving the Russia investigation. Of course, that didn’t stop him from doing Trump’s bidding and involving himself in the firing of Comey, who was overseeing the FBI’s Russia investigation — and of course, Trump subsequently told Lester Holt on national television (and told the Russians, including Sergey Kislyak, in the Oval Office) that he fired Comey to take the heat off himself from the Russia investigation. So, I guess if Jeff Sessions could make nonsense of his recusal once — what the heck, he might do it again, any day now, and find a pretext to charge Comey with perjury! Comey implied during his testimony there are more reasons to be wary of Sessions than those we know of, reasons that are currently classified, so it could all get very involved


As far as I can tell, Comey told no lies at all. I’m not sure where you’re getting the idea that Comey lied (though I suspect it’s from the pro-Trump-no-matter-what right-wing media), but in a situation where you have different stories from two different people, any experienced investigator will tell you that it becomes a matter of credibility. Like him or not, Comey has built his entire career on credibility and integrity…whereas Trump has (as of June 5th, 2017) made 623 false and misleading claims.

I know whose word I would take.


Here’s Trump “telling it like it is” at a press conference a month ago:

Reporter: What do you think European countries have to fear from Russia if this tension continues to escalate?

Trump: Well, I want to just start by saying hopefully they're going to have to fear nothing, ultimately. Right now there is a fear and there are problems, certainly problems, but ultimately I hope there won't be a fear and won't be problems and the world can get along. That would be the ideal situation. It's crazy what's going on, whether it's the Middle East or you look at no matter where, the Ukraine, you look at -- whatever you look at, it's got problems. So many problems. And ultimately, I believe that we are going to get rid of most of those problems and there won't be fear of anybody. That's the way it should be.[1]

He doesn’t have an answer to the question, so he strings together a bunch of words that technically form sentences, but are utterly devoid of meaning. He doesn’t even come close to answering the reporter’s question at a level we’ve come to expect from the President.

But for some reason, 40% of the country nods their heads along with him and then posts questions like this. His answer makes sense in the way complete nonsense makes sense to you when you and your friend are super high in your parents’ basement. If you gave an answer like that at a meeting at work, you’d be fired on the spot for gross incompetence and embarrassing your company.

Pick nearly any policy area and you can find a Trump answer as incoherent as this one.

So I guess people don’t understand him because he is literally incomprehensible.

Russia has not "been caught." Someone using Russian phishing techniques did some hacking. There has been no proof of one vote being changed due to this. Exactly how you can hack something that isn't hooked up to the internet is something that puzzles me.
The DNC was aware of the hacking and ignored it until they lost. Our own government uses these techniques. We have interfered in other countries' elections. We spy on the Russians, they spy on us. We also spy on our NATO allies and they return the favor. Ditto the Chinese, NK's, and pretty much everyone else in the world.
