Build It Now: Two BRILLIANT Ideas to Pay for the Border Wall
June 10, 2017 Breaking News, Freedom News 116 Comments

Senator Luther Strange of Alabama has a novel idea to pay for the border wall, and it isn’t too far removed from President Trump’s promise to make Mexico pony up the money. The Republican thinks there could be a way to tie the border wall legislation to another, interrelated item on the president’s agenda: getting sanctuary cities in compliance with federal immigration law.

“It all boils down to public safety,” the senator said of sanctuary cities. “We say if you’re not going to allow [local officials to cooperate], then we’ll reallocate that money to another jurisdiction along the border so the wall can be built.”

Strange is introducing a bill that would accomplish just that. It would yank infrastructure and transportation funds from sanctuary cities and funnel the money towards constructing the wall.

According to a new report from Axios, Sen. Strange isn’t the only one coming up with out-of-the-box ideas to pay for the wall. The president himself told GOP leaders in Congress this week about another possible avenue towards funding:

In the meeting at the White House today with Republican Congressional leaders, President Trump spent some time talking up his latest idea for the border wall. According to 3 people with direct knowledge of the meeting, Trump floated the idea that the wall could be covered in solar panels and the electricity generated used to pay for the cost.

Of course, why are these schemes necessary in the first place? Because the Republican-controlled Congress doesn’t have the political appetite to actually pony up the money. They don’t have the will to put Democrats on the defensive and FORCE them to vote for funding. They don’t believe there’s enough American support for the wall to make it politically feasible, even though President Trump walloped every other Republican in the primaries on his way to decisively winning the election. These idiots apparently think people pulled the lever for Trump despite actually opposing his signature promise…

The best plan we’ve heard so far is the one where we either tax or confiscate the remittances of illegal immigrants. That would, essentially, be the true fulfillment of Trump’s promise to build the wall “and make Mexico pay for it.” But again, such a scheme takes political will on the part of the GOP, and Republicans have proven time and again that they’re all talk, no action when it comes to illegal immigration.

Thankfully, in the meantime, Trump and ICE are doing everything possible to slow the flow of immigrants across the border and send back the ones who are already here. The president knows that if we wait for Congress to do something…well, just look at the last thirty years to see what will happen.

I have an even better idea!

There were about 62 million people who voted for Trump, and a high estimate is that the wall as Trump proposes it would cost about $71 Billion. My guess is that about 70% of that is labor. So if everyone who voted for Trump pitched in about 23 hours of their time at a great American wage of $35/hour we could get that thing built for practically nothing! Why, my guess is there are enough patriotic companies out there that would also donate the materials and engineering expertise. What are you guys waiting for?

Easy solution get them at Western Union . Anyone sending money to Mexico , 50% tax . So in actuality for every for every 100 dollars on 50 dollars goes to Mexico 50 dollars towards the wall .

Impossible. All the people who voted for Trump have jobs. Why don't you call all the Democrats on their Obama phones. When they answer (if they aren't sleeping ) tell them George Soros has another riot planned near the border. When they get off their busses with hammers and picks and a little rage maybe we can get something useful out of them for a change.

Unfortunatly, that is probably mostly true. ALL politicians are owned by special interests and lobbyists except our President who is not one of them. That's why the President and the Americans who voted for him want the wall but all the others don't. Republicians are bought by the likes of Tyson Chicken who want illegals to work in their factories. Democrats want to open the border and give all the illegals citizenship to increase their voter base. It's difficult to get past these two roadblocks. The only hope we have is one of the creative solutions to funding and building the wall as suggested by the remarks in this thread. Congress will never ever, in a million years, finance the border wall. The President and the folks who voted for him want the wall but Congress has already erected a substantial barrier on both sides to keep OUR wall from ever happening.

The trouble is we would want the unpatriotic liberals to do the contributing so that they can have a little pride in America and give them a sense of accomplishment in America. After that they can say we helped build that. Those that don't contribute could well end up seeing their ass thrown over the wall and not let back in.

Force Walmart to charge $6.00 to send money to Mexico instead of the $4.00 they now charge them when we have to pay $6.00 to send money in the USA. That is what I found out at Walmart when I sent money to my grandson. And that frigging sucks.

Typical radical right response. Like Trump, trying desperately to get someone else to pay for something they want.

That's a lovely idea: indentured servitude for American citizens who don't agree with you about this issue. And if they don't like, strip them of their citizenship. It's the (right wing) American way.

Do the right wingers ever read what they write?

It's called sarcasm in response to a typical left wing statement. You want to play one side I play the opposite. Lighten up.
