Well reneging on the Paris agreement weakens us in the eyes of the world. Now we stand with Nicaragua and Syria as the only countries opposed. Clean energy is the way technology is going and we have taken ourselves out of the running. We will lose BIGLY now. China is poised to take over the top spot. And we are are poised to help Russia and Saudi Arabia, the countries with the two biggest oil reserves, as we pollute the planet by continuing with fossil fuels.

Welcome to OPP. We need more leftists here. It would be nice, however, if you could do a little more research and stick to facts instead of the Democrat party line. We don't need more of that. I don't see how anyone can oppose getting out of the Paris accords. This isn't about clean energy at all. It's about transferring money from our pockets into third world pockets. Not only that, it is completely ridiculous to allow China and India to skate free and saddle the USA with the burden. The China economy is set to overtake ours within a year. They are the major polluters of the world. Pulling out of the Paris accords does not weaken us in the eyes of the world. That is purely leftist talking points and actually strengthens us as we get back to what we were in the Reagan days. Obama has done so much damage to this Country that it is going to take a long time and tick off lots of leftists to repair. It is really nice to have a President again.

This agreement was unachievable from the start, obama was banking on his "Clean Power Plan" in which he gave away millions of dollars to compaines that went TU. His promise to reduce our carbon foot print by 28 percent is not achievable with current technologies. Having said this,
the vast majority of Americans will not set by and allow our planet become a wasteland. Companies will develop new innovative products to meet our expectations, if we demand better then they will produce. Just because we will not need to report to France on our goals does not imply that we will be careless. Many Americans are doing more than their share to reduce our carbon footprint... recycling, downsizing cars and home.
Installing geothermal heating/cooling, solar panels, and driving crossovers or electric vehicles and city dwellers are using mas-transit,
bicycling, or walking. So here is my question to you.... what are you doing (other than complaining about our President) to reduce your footprint??

Kayo55, First you need to do some research into the facts; 1) we have more energy reserves than Saudi Arabia or Russia, 2) Oil will always be drilled for the petrochemical uses, 3) The Ohio university has developed a process of burning coal chemically instead of mechanically that is 99% clean, 4) The bulk of all trade in the world goes by ocean shipping. A typical freighter burns between 78 and 125 tons of fuel per day. It is about 22 days from Asia to the US. 5) As for "clean power" nuclear is as clean as you can get but the Carter administration pretty much destroyed that industry.
