Many on both sides see their perks, cushy job and power as more important than the will of the people. About election time they feed the base the red meat that gets them elected. To many voters just don't pay attention.

That's "lefty's" fantasy since well before Hillary was going to win the 2016 POTUS election in a "LANDSLIDE," S. Way-back, from {actually just after the 2008 POTUS election} 2010, to this past November. And, hummmmmmm, what IS that "crushing" noise I keep hearing. GOOOOOOOOOOOOO PRESIDENT "45" DONALD J. Think of the country as a sick patient, the election as a thermometer, and the election results as the palliative. Perhaps the patient is not yet cured, but with proper administration it could be well on the road to recovery.

What we've been seeing from congress so far is not encouraging. I hope those (R)s get their crap together pretty soon and start backing this president.

The phony R's must be culled from the herd.
NeoCONS along with RINOS like McCain, McConnell, and Lindsey Graham.

I believe we are also dealing with a secondary infection; extremists of the left. A potential cancer if not nipped in the bud soon. Early detection and obliteration of the offending cells should do the trick.
