How many years did,lets say, their parents fight to eliminate it??

Do you think they have any concept to what they are throwing away and how fragile this country is right now?? They think only of themself and candidly they aren't thinking!! Perhaps they are so brain washed they have lost reality to what took place in history to get them where they are now..

Does show how the Globalist are succeeding with them.. I would feel pity for them if it wasn't the stark reality of exactly what such action does to an already devided Nation, taking the rest of us with them..How truly demonstrative this action is!!!

Moreover, the scheme of representation and the various mechanisms for selecting representatives established by the Constitution were clearly intended to produce a republic, not a democracy...

The fact that people inter change the words does not make it a democracy, it makes it an error......

Because the Electoral College performs its function very well, and there are a great many other more important subjects to talk about, like why do the democrats keep nibbling on President Trumps butt like a bunch of rabid piranhas while he is trying to drain the swamp, or why did the democrats love the Electoral College only when it works for them? I've never seen such a Communist/Socialist furor in my lifetime; they must be terrified that they are going to lose their featherbeds and their free benefits, and they should be terrified, and they should lose their freebies and have to work for a living rather than just vote for a living!

The name Democratic-Republican Party was at first a derogatory name for the party that was applied by the Federalists. The derisive term 'Democratic' was added to convey the extreme actions taken in the name of Democracy during the French Revolution and the dictatorship of Napoleon Bonaparte. The Neutrality Proclamation of 1793 issued by George Washington had resulted in the resignation of Thomas Jefferson as Secretary of State. Jefferson and the Republicans had believed that they were the only anti-monarchical party in America, and that the federalists were enemies of a republic, liberty and the rights of man. The Republicans admired many of the ideals of the French citizens with their strong anti-monarchist sentiments and their belief of the principle of government by the people. The Federalists plan to discredit the Republicans backfired, the 'derisive' name stuck, and the Republicans were happy to call their party the Democratic-Republicans.

The Democratic-Republican Party split into two groups.

The first group were Democratic-Republicans organized by Martin Van Buren and led by Andrew Jackson

The group dropped the word "Republican" and called themselves simply Democrats and so began the formation of the Democrat Party

The second group, led by Adams and Clay, were called the National Republican Party

The Anti-Federalists were totally opposed to the Federalists idea of government. The Anti-Federalists believed that the vast majority of ordinary, less educated Americans, had the common sense and skills required to run the government. The last thing they wanted was a government based on the class conscious British system.
