Good idea.
Why should a Progressive taking Welfare work at one job when a Conservative that's already working to pay for welfare can take a second job?

Nice one. You beat me to it.

It was a slow hanging curve ball.
We should use prison labor. Let him pay them min. wage. They can apply the money to their fines, fees, back child support, and upkeep. Win/win.
I did as a kid growing up in the state of WA. That's how we made money. I cut asparagus, picked strawberry's, picked cherries, pears, and plums. The kids now days have too much disposable income (provided by their parents) and don't work in the fields, or part-time jobs like they did when I was a kid. Hell, I started delivering newspapers when I was 9.
I feel for the farmer, but we have enough illegals in this country and don't need anymore. Politicians, from both sides want a 'guest worker' program, but if one remembers the old Braceros Program from 1942 to 1964, it was abused immensely. Here is a link if you want to read about that program:

But, our crime from illegal immigration, and the sucking up SSI, food stamps, welfare, Medicaid, etc should balance it out.

I like how you look at the bigger picture Rivers. Some people just can't seem to get out of that small box their in.
So the farmer who employed illegals at low wages can't find enough this year to pick his crops, and the 25 yr old black woman with 5 kids who feels like Trump can't or won't feel her pain, and the Type 1 diabetic can't get her $4000 auto insulin injector don't like Trump. I wonder if any of them are searching for alternative answers to their problems on their own?
Probably not. But I can't feel their pain either. I just don't have the time. I run my small biz, 4 families besides my own to be concerned about. My wife is not only the business mgr. here, but also created and built a property mgmt. business from 1 home to 70 homes in 3 1/2 years and is still growing. Yeah, I don't feel for the welfare cheats, the farmer who made his money by hiring illegals in California of all places, and the young woman who thinks medical care is a right. I know a few Type 1's who horror of horrors actually use a needle, not an expensive luxury injector, being a Type II myself, I pay for every pill I consume. And I'm self pay as opposed to any other option.

A guest worker program can be run without unreasonable abuse if the legislature wants it run without abuse. There should be federal, state, and local oversight.
Holy moly, I wonder how long and hard they had to search for a farmer who was a progressive at heart? Hells bells, Obama blamed Bush for all Obama's failures to the point it became an international joke. Before progressives got their rump scratching fingers into immigration, hoping to buy more minority votes, it was routinely easy for migrant farm workers to get work visas. In farm country large farms had barracks to provide housing for them.
It's a very simple solution.
If your young and healthy, then you can lose your food stamps and welfare.
If you don't want to starve, you can go to work.............................Nuff said!

Yeah, I don't think Peter exactly thought this one out.
