On a serious note, my sister and I both live in rural areas, about 20 miles apart, and over the last 2-3 years she noticed several of the feral cats she fed regularly were dying suddenly. A couple of days ago she lost her new kitten, he was an indoor cat. The vet said it was bobcat fever, it's tick born and bobcats are the carriers. It is really quick and usually deadly, within 3 days of noticing symptoms your cat is gone, no vaccine, and not really any effective treatment. Really heartbreaking
