As a true patriot, do you have to be prompted to take off your hat or cover your heart or stand for our National Anthem?

If it is just a crowd gesture, someone's own self-importance may cause forgetfulness. But if you are the man that wants to Make America Great Again, how do you forget? Unless it is just a self-serving slogan. I am never pre-occupied when the National Anthem is played, even in the middle of a great frank or argument with my wife or question from my daughter. It immediately grabs me and I respond appropriately as a vet or any true American. Not Trump.

As in poker, there are tells in real life, things people do that may appear innocuous or meaningless that tell a deeper story, reveal their true character or thinking. On the Right, you will thoroughly excuse as nothing Trump leaving his wife in the lurch to rush up the stairs into the spotlight of his inauguration. No other president has been so insensitive or vain. Not even Obama. (OMG!) Hey, I know Rightie, no big deal. Just a women. And then his wife, who has refused to be close to him in the WH, had to nudge him to properly honor our nation. An immigrant had to remind Trump to cover his heart in tribute to this nation. Kind of ironic...and very telling of who he is.

It's the difference between rhetoric and reality - some folks can't differentiate between the two. I had a friend once who bragged about how he'd deal with someone trying to rob him. On day, as we were walking down the street late at night, a dude jumped out brandishing a handgun demanding money. I grabbed the dudes gun hand, pushing it up, and cold cocked him. When I turned to see about my friend - he was nowhere in sight. His braggadocio was rhetoric, reality caused him to run away. My right uppercut was reality for the would be robber - I didn't see the need for any rhetoric.

Trump has ( at best ) a very tenuous grasp of reality - he lives in rhetoric land.

Nice. And extremely gracious of you to say (even at best) that Trump has "a very tenuous grasp of reality." If he could ever find his mind, he would thank you.

Two idiots conversing shouldn't be interrupted. The Flag is a precious element of our reason for being here. Everyone should automaticatically stand, hand over heart at attention for alll the BRAVE men and women, who fought and died for what it represents.
Wish I could buy two tickets for Afghanistan and present them to you two.

Wish I knew what you are trying to say, but thank you for contributing.
