Q. Was this another 'false flag' ?
That is the question!!!
Remember the USS Liberty when Israel attacked a US unarmed 'intel' gathering ship in international waters in '67 during the 6 day war with Egypt.(:
No, this was not a false flag. Syrian missiles hit the Golan Heights, the IDF responded by targeting the launch sites. How would you respond, okie, if you were fired upon? I for one would definitely shoot back. Particularly if I were surrounded by mortal enemies who have sworn to kill me.
The workings of the conspiratorial mind is a bizarre phenomenon, on many levels. If the United States or Israel launches a military operation or conducts a limited strike against an enemy, these are false flags. But the sworn enemies of the United States and Israel have Carte Blanche to conduct any kind of military or terrorist operation the want, and these are not false flags.
And, it doesn't end there, it gets even more bizarre. If a mortal enemy of the United States launches an attack on the United States or on Israel, the conspiratorial mind almost instantly lets the attackers off the hook, and their attacks are blamed on the United States or on Israel as a false flag operation, or an "inside job". The Murratt building in Oklahoma City and 9/11 are prime examples of conspirators giving the real perps a pass and blaming these events on the United States and/or Israel.
Regarding the USS Liberty incident. Have you ever heard the term "the fog of war", okie? Have you heard of
"friendly fire"? Yeah, friendly fire incidents are not uncommon in war. In fact, throughout history, there have been thousands of friendly fire incidents, accounting for an estimated 2% to 20% of all casualties in battle. We could go back to the 1400s, the War of the Roses, and work our way forward. In that search, we will find thousands of friendly fire incidents. During WW2, for example, throughout the entire war, there were hundreds of friendly fire deaths. Operation Cobra comes to mind. In two consecutive days, the US 8th Air Force erroneously bombed American troops staged on the front line--around 130 Americans were killed and 620 were wounded.
In the case of the USS Liberty, an Israeli pilot mistakenly identified the US ship as an Egyptian vessel and opened fire. He called for back up and the ship was seriously hit. Subsequent investigations revealed that this was a friendly fire incident. One of the most common causes of friendly fire incidents is mistaken identity. It is what killed Pat Tilman in A-stan.
