Nadab and Abihu

This account is in the 10th chapter of Leviticus. These were the first two sons of Aaron. Aaron was the brother of Moses. The job of Priest was to be passed to them when Aaron died. Then Nadab and Abihu brought strange fire to the altar. God was so angry at this act that He slew Nadab and Abihu. Could God have a message for us? What was done that was so wrong? In Exodus 30:8 & 9 God forbids strange fire to be used by the priests. How can we apply this to our lives? The fire was to burn continuously. Society was ran by men. Men have or should have a sense of vision and an understanding that actions have consequences. The civil rights movement was a mistake. We should have soldiered on until God righted societies wrongs. The civil rights was man centered and not God centered. If it was God centered there would have been a suitable replacement for Martin Luther King. Strange fire can be likened to new ideas. The church used the moral guide for this nation. Now we value worship over obedience. We have terms that didn’t exist in the 1970’s. The terms are baby-mommas and baby-daddies. Before we knew children grew up.
Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Genesis 2:24
We don’t need to return to the bible but to turn to it. If we followed the bible we wouldn’t have needed to fight for civil rights. We can’t turn back the hands of time. All things work for good to them that love God. A man of God will do better in every circumstance.
