Finally. I am so tired of hearing for two years that any second now Trump will be in jail.
Well, it won't be too much longer before Mueller will start naming names and indicting Donny Two-Chins and his criminal, although not too bright children. I suspect it will be in about two weeks, and the sane part of our country will get a very special Christmas present.
Whereas most people have a universal understanding that facts should generally be accepted true until disproven, Trump supporters see scientists, doctors, reporters, historians, mathematicians, statisticians, and economists, not as arbiters of fact and fiction, but as partisan hacks, all on George Soros’ payroll, spewing anti-Trump lies, designed to make America crummy.
Therefore, any presentation of factual information to a Trump supporter will instantly trigger a massive reflexive recoil, as though you’ve just tossed an angry rattlesnake in his lap. His response will be instantaneous, indignantly pointing out the Soros connection that you missed, and laughing out loud (LOL’ing) at your childish naivety and lack of understanding the real world. Using facts is not only a no-win tactic, we normals actually lose the argument because, obviously, we’re chumps who don’t understand what’s really going on.
The second rule of talking sense to Trump supporters is that you cannot discuss Trump’s promises or policies and how they will adversely affect the Trump supporters. We normals see Trump’s signature health care and tax bills, and his billionaire, CEO, banker, and corporate lobbyist cabinet picks, for what they are, political tools designed to help the wealthy and their corporations, at the expense of the poor and middle classes. We see his many broken promises and outright reversals as meaningless campaign rhetoric intended to sucker voters into thinking Trump really cared about their tiny little lives. But Trump supporters don’t really know, much less, understand what his policies are. Heck, even Trump doesn’t know what they are, admitting last week: “I don’t stand by anything.”
To his supporters, Trump truly moves in mysterious ways. No matter the travail, they remain ever faithful, wearing their inexplicable steadfastness as a badge of honor. Biblical Job didn’t get an explanation from God for all his heartaches, so why should they be so presumptuous?
So with customary conversation starters off the table, you may feel limited, like the Trump supporters themselves, to exclusively using ad hominem attacks. But I’d like to expand your universe: Use their “alternative facts” against them. Just make up some bizarre, “alt-truth” concept, tell your target that Trump said it, and make him defend that.
Heck, find queasy quotes from Hitler or Stalin, say they’re from Trump, and demand an immediate, full explanation. Obviously, Trump supporters never look anything up, so have fun.
Give me your slant on the Constitution. What makes you even think I watch FOX? You must be black or you wouldn't be trying to bait me by using the race card. Pathetic. BTW, Obama was more white than black, so stick that up your derriere.
I think you watch Fox and believe everything people like Sean Hannity say. You are not thinking for yourself, and cannot accept that Barack Obama is not going to prison, but Donald Trump is going to be arrested and jailed. Trump is so unpopular he has to place ads on Craigslist to get people to go to his rallies. It seems that Trump is guilty of every bad thing he accuses other people of doing. Lying, cheating, corruption, racism, and theft. Yet, you people blindly follow him - he does not care about you. He will try every trick to take away your health and welfare to give to the wealthy. Ignoring facts equals ignorance, and that sums you up pretty well.
You are delusional at best. Over what? Driving the economy into the best position ever. Accomplishing more in just over a year in a half than Obama ever came close to in 8 long years? Dream on, punk!
Do you really think Obama was a failure, or is it because Fox told you he was a failure? Or is it because he is black? Trump has done more damage to this country than good. In ten years, when the goverment is broke and your social security and medicare benefits are reduced, you will blame the Democrat in office for the situation. It always seems to be a Democratic president who has to clean up after a Republican president lowers taxes and drives the country into bankruptcy. Because of Trump and the spineless Republicans, you will have no health insurance, no social security, no medicaid, and no place to live. The wealthy will tell you to pull up your bootstraps and get to work. However, if you are in your 70's or 80's you might not be able to get that dream job at Target to pay your rent. Donald Trump is a conman, thief, liar, and a sexual predator. This is the man you look up to. Wow!
I saw Obama announce yesrerday on the news that
"Those aren't Trumps numbers, Those are my numbers"
In regards to yesterday's job numbers.
I almost defecated myself!
You seem to forget Donald Trump saying Obama's great numbers on the economy were false. However, when he became president, those great numbers belonged to him. It doesn't really matter anyway, he is going to prison. It may not happen until his term is over, but it will happen.
More Blacks voted for Trump than other Repub can... (
Except: not quite. According to data collected by the Roper Center for Public Opinion Research at Cornell, only 8% of African-American voters cast their ballots for Trump in the 2016 presidential election. President George W. Bush received 11% of the African-American vote in 2004.
What you are saying is Ivanka Trump never said he raped her, the woman did not file a lawsuit against Trump for rape when she was 13 years old, members of the wrestling team did not allege that Jim Jordan witnessed the sex acts performed in front of him, and that the priests did not sexually assault children.
There is no point discussing the matter any further with you.
Drop the hate and false propaganda. The only way such things sound like Trump is if you buy anti Trump propaganda not backed by evidence. Hmmm what kind of American are you to advocate GUILTY TILL PROVEN INNOCENT!???
These are facts - why are you ignoring them? Ignoring facts = ignorance. Trump won't be impeached, but will go to jail.
Talking about reality doesn't mean you are in the ... (
I agree - on a smaller scale, we have Jim Jordan denying claims of sexual behavior in his presence, and on a larger scale, the Catholic Church not punishing pedophile priests. They either ignored it, or moved the offender to another parish.
I am quite sure it this happened to the grandchildren of the people on OPP, they would get their guns and find the guy.
Why do facts not matter if it only affects somebody else?
Nathan Larson “bragged in website posts about raping his late ex-wife.” Indeed, “In a phone call, Larson confirmed that he created the now-defunct websites suiped.org and incelocalypse.today ― chat rooms that served as gathering places for pedophiles and violence-minded misogynists like himself.”
And he admitted there was a “grain of truth” in an essay he wrote “about father-daughter incest and another about raping his ex-wife repeatedly.”
Except for incest with his daughter, this sounds a lot like Donald Trump. His ex-wife said he raped her, he has said he would like to date his daughter, and he has been accused in a lawsuit of raping a child.
I remember Sicilian posting many times about Jade Helm and FEMA camps. He might want to think about medication.
[quote=eagleye13]Obama's burial costs
Some may want to know;
When a president dies, the country pays for their burial. In the case of a president like JFK, who was a war hero and assassinated in the middle of a term, something extravagant is in order. His burial at Arlington with the memorial paid for by the people cost almost $4 million in today's money, adjusted for inflation. The Kennedy family paid for the casket, vault and the eternal flame.
Ronald Reagan, one of the most influential men in history, is buried in California at his Presidential Library, paid for by donations from the people and the Reagan family. In fact, other than Kennedy, which we can all agree was warranted, no president has ever cost the taxpayers more than $100K in today's money to bury.
The clause in the Presidential Contract enacted by congress in 1819 states that the president shall receive the burial service deemed fit for his stature and that the cost of the funeral and burial plot will be paid for by the people of a grateful nation. While every president who has died in modern history, except Reagan, took advantage of that perk of the presidency, none have gone so far that anyone would ever have noticed. Until now that is.
Barack Obama has just submitted his plans for burial in a plot that will house his entire family, citing the Kennedys, the Tafts and the Roosevelts as precedent, inside a monument he had designed to celebrate the nation's first black president. The monument, will cost the taxpayers roughly $120 million and will be listed as a national historical place with 24 hour protection from the 3rd US Infantry Regiment, just like the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
The memorial would be built immediately upon approval and occupy the Northeast quadrant of the lawn near the Washington Monument with a view of the White House:
The monument itself would include quotes from his years as president along with a giant bronze statue and burial crypts for him and his family under a large arch:
You heard that right. Obama will be guarded around the clock in a monument among those of our founding fathers and greatest heroes, paid for by the taxpayer. It's not too late to call or contact your congressman and object.
According to Snopes this article is false. It came from America’s Last Line of Defense - a satirical publication.
As I see it, I didn't raise the bar, you did. What do you expect? Changing Global Warming to Climate Change because the facts don't prove it. COLDEST YEAR this year and last!!!! When the American People get tried of the left saying the opposite of what they promise or start working with the duly elected President, then I'll raise the bar on positive responses!
I don't think you understood what I said. I was replying to Lone Wolf's post listing Trump's actions that have hurt the American people, not replying to your post. I used the term "raising the bar" to say that the conversation had been elevated to a higher, better level by posting facts instead of insults.
The earth is getting warmer, and this will have severe and terrible consequences. This is not a lie, and I think most people understand that it will not improve unless we act now. I think the Left does try to deliver on their promises, but Donald Trump frequently tells people what they want to hear with no intention of helping them. A few examples: better cheaper health care, lowering taxes on the middle class while making sure the wealthy pay their fair share, and reaching across the aisle to work with each other for the betterment of all the people.
no not in a good wat Putin's way. br hears a list ... (
Yes, thank you for posting facts. I have a theory with the President. If he accuses a person of committing some action, he is almost surely guilty of that action. Other people are crooked, racist, sexual abusers, liars, etc. However, when Trump or one of his supporters hear facts that they do not like, they call it fake news. I often wonder if Trump people really believe Trump is the next savior, or they are actually in Russia trying to undermine the American political system. The earth is in real danger because of climate change, yet our elected officials are ignoring the obvious signs because their wealthy donors tell them what to do and say. Where is the concern they voiced for years about leaving a huge debt to our children? How about giving our future generations a world that may be uninhabitable because of global warming.
Unfortunately, some people rely on insults instead of having a civil conversation. But, you have raised the bar today on One Political Plaza.
Maybe we can change the law and have him in there for a 3rd term.
It will probably take two terms for Trump to destroy the United States. However, if he did serve a third term he could successfully destroy the world. He is kind of like an evil genius, without the genius part.
