The stores should shut down and move and tell the city to go and F themselves, s***ery is against the law. If the city wants to keep the store open the commissioners should chip in and buy the place since it's such a great investment.

A female who's accused of stabbing a 1-year-old boy in a stroller in front of his parents on a Philadelphia street Saturday — as well as a 24-year-old woman on a different street hours earlier — was out on bail in connection with a 2022 stabbing in New York City.

What are the details?
Takeira Hester, 28, was out on bail when she missed her Thursday hearing in an assault case for allegedly stabbing a 31-year-old man who tried to break up a fight between Hester and another woman on a lower Manhattan train in 2022, authorities told the New York Post.

Hester apparently made it down to Philadelphia just two days later, where officials said she engaged in two knife attacks.

Around 8:30 a.m. a 24-year-old woman suffered stab wounds to her chest and finger on the 1300 block of Chancellor Street, WTXF-TV reported.

A few hours later, a mother and father were walking with their twins using a stroller outside Temple Beth Zion-Beth Israel when police said a woman rushed up and stabbed one of the children, the station said.

“It looked like this female just rushed up to them and nothing was said – completely random," Philadelphia Police Capt. Frank Banford told reporters Saturday, according to the Post. "[She] tried to stab both children but got one child…in each arm.”

The children's father ran after the attacker, who got away but left behind a bag that contained enough clues to help cops track her down, Banford told the paper.

Philadelphia police told Blaze News they arrested Hester around 7:19 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of North 63rd Street and charged her with attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of instruments of crime, and recklessly endangering another person.

Both stabbing victims — the 24-year-old woman and the 1-year-old boy — reportedly were in stable condition, WTXF said.

Banford told the Post that Hester used a “long knife” in both Philadelphia attacks.

Hester was being held on $4 million bail, WCAU reported.

What else?
New York City authorities had a warrant out for Hester's arrest after she skipped her Thursday hearing in Manhattan Criminal Court in connection with the 2022 assault case, prosecutors told the Post.

Hester was accused of attacking a good Samaritan who tried to intervene as Hester fought with another woman on board a southbound No. 4 train at the Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall station around 6 a.m. Oct. 26, 2022, the paper said, citing the NYPD.

She allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed the man in the back of the neck, right wrist, and shoulder, police told the Post, adding that Hester fled from the station but was later identified at Bellevue Hospital, where she was arrested.

She was charged with second-degree assault and first-degree attempted assault in connection to the 2022 incident, the paper said, citing a criminal complaint.

More from the Post:

A Manhattan judge at her arraignment ordered her held on $10,000 cash, $15,000 insurance company bond, or $25,000 partially secured surety bond at her arraignment, according to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

Prosecutors had requested that she be held on $75,000 cash, insurance company bond, or partially secured bond in the case, the DA’s office said.

Hester posted the $10,000 cash bail on Feb. 28, 2023, state court officials said.
It’s unclear when her next court date is in relation to the 2022 New York City case, the paper added.

KNOW THE SYMPTOMS!
Thank goodness there's a name for this disorder.

Age-Activated Attention Deficit Disorder.

This is how it manifests:

I decide to water my garden.
As I turn on the hose in the driveway,
I look over at my car and decide it needs washing.

As I start toward the garage,
I notice mail on the porch table that
I brought up from the mail box earlier.

I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.

I lay my car keys on the table,
Put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table,
And notice that the can is full.

So, I decide to put the bills back
On the table and take out the garbage first...

But then I think,
Since I'm going to be near the mailbox
When I take out the garbage anyway,
I may as well pay the bills first.

I take my check book off the table,
And see that there is only one check left.
My extra checks are in my desk in the study,
So I go inside the house to my desk where
I find the can of Pepsi I'd been drinking.

I'm going to look for my checks,
But first I need to push the Pepsi aside
So that I don't accidentally knock it over.

The Pepsi is getting warm,
And I decide to put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold.

As I head toward the kitchen with the Pepsi,
A vase of flowers on the counter
Catches my eye--they need water.

I put the Pepsi on the counter and
Discover my reading glasses that
I've been searching for all morning.
I decide I better put them back on my desk,
But first I'm going to water the flowers.

I set the glasses back down on the counter ,
Fill a container with water and suddenly spot the TV remote.
Someone left it on the kitchen table.

I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV,
I'll be looking for the remote,
But I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table,
So I decide to put it back in the den where it belongs,
But first I'll water the flowers.

I pour some water in the flowers,
But quite a bit of it spills on the floor.

So, I set the remote back on the table,
Get some towels and wipe up the spill.

Then, I head down the hall trying to
Remember what I was planning to do.

At the end of the day:
The car isn't washed,
The bills aren't paid,
There is a warm can of
Pepsi sitting on the counter,
The flowers don't have enough water,
There is still only 1 check in my check book,
I can't find the remote,
I can't find my glasses,
And I don't remember what I did with the car keys.
Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today,
I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all day,
And I'm really tired.

I realize this is a serious problem,
And I'll try to get some help for it, but first I'll check my e-mail....

Do me a favor.
Forward this message to everyone you know,
Because I don't remember who I've sent it to.

Don't laugh -- if this isn't you yet, your day is coming!

P.S. I don't remember who sent it to me, so if it was you, I'm sorry

Good News: The World Is Not Ending
Judith Curry
Apr 15, 2024

Is c*****e c****e an existential crisis? Judith Curry, former Chair of the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology, has spent her career studying this question. Her answer might surprise you.

Let’s start with the good news.

All things considered, planet Earth is doing fine. In fact, humans are doing better than at any other time in history. Over the last hundred years, when temperatures have warmed by about two degrees Fahrenheit:

Global population has increased by 6 billion people…

While Global poverty has substantially declined.

And the number of people k**led from weather disasters has decreased by 97% on a per capita basis.

We are obviously not facing an existential crisis.

Anyone who tells you that we are is not paying attention to the historical data. Instead, they are concerned about what “might” happen in the future, based on predictions from inadequate climate models, driven by unrealistic assumptions.

I offer this positive diagnosis after a lifetime of study on the issue. Until recently, I was a professor of climate science and Chair of the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

But it’s not all good news.

The biggest problem with c*****e c****e is not c*****e c****e, per se, it’s how we’re dealing with it.

We’re attempting to control the uncontrollable, at great cost, by urgently eliminating f****l f**ls. We’ve failed to properly place the risks from c*****e c****e in context of other challenges the world is facing.

C*****e c****e has become a convenient scapegoat. As a result, we’re neglecting the real causes of these problems.

There are countless examples, but let me give you just one.

Lake Chad in Africa is shrinking. Nigeria’s president Muhammadu Buhari blames it on you-know-what. “C*****e c****e,” he pronounced, “is largely responsible for the drying up of Lake Chad…”

But it’s not.

Yes, the initial water level decline was caused by long droughts in the 1970s and 1980s. But the lake has remained virtually empty over the past two decades, even while rainfall has recovered. During this time, rivers flowing into the lake from Cameroon, Chad, and Nigeria have been diverted by government agencies to irrigate inefficient rice farms.

In short, c*****e c****e has little to do with the declining water level of Lake Chad. Instead, bad human decisions are the cause. C*****e C****e is just a convenient excuse, hiding poor management and governance.

Blaming every major weather disaster on man-made g****l w*****g defies common sense, as well as the historical data record.

For the past 50 years, the global climate has been fairly benign. In the US, the worst heat waves, droughts, and hurricane landfalls occurred in the 1930s—much worse than anything we’ve experienced so far in the 21st century.

Population growth, where and how people live, and how governments manage resources are much more likely to create conditions for a disaster than the climate itself. We’ve always had hurricanes, droughts, and floods, and we always will.

Maybe you think I’m being too cavalier about the dangers we face. Isn’t it true that 97% of scientists agree that humans are causing dangerous c*****e c****e?

Well, here’s what all climate scientists actually agree on:

• The average global surface temperature has increased over the last 150 years.

• Humans are adding carbon dioxide to the atmosphere by burning f****l f**ls.

• And carbon dioxide emissions have a warming effect on the planet.

However, climate scientists disagree about the most consequential issues:

• How much warming is associated with our emissions

• Whether this warming is larger than natural climate variability.

• And how much the climate will change in the future.

There’s a lot that we still don’t understand about how the climate works. Ocean circulation patterns and variations in clouds have a large impact. But climate models do a poor job of predicting these. Variations in the sun and volcanic eruptions also have a substantial impact, but these are simply unpredictable.

The fact is, we can’t predict the future climate. It’s simply not possible. And everybody should acknowledge that. And every scientist does.

While humans do influence the climate, we can’t control the climate. To think we can is the height of hubris, the Greek word for overconfidence.

What we can do is adapt to wh**ever Mother Nature throws our way. Human beings have a long history of being very good at that. We can build sea walls, we can better manage our water resources, and implement better disaster warning and management protocols.

These are things we can control.

If we focus on that, there’s every reason to be optimistic about our future.

Biden Told Bibi to 'Take the W' and Not Retaliate After Iran Attack, But It Looks Like It's Still Coming
Nick Arama

Israel doesn't generally hold back.

So, in the wake of the attack on Israel from Iran with drones and missiles on Saturday, you might have supposed that there would be an immediate response from Israel.

That's when the Biden team intervened. Joe Biden had a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in which he told Netanyahu that Israel should "take the win" from the successful defense against the more than 300 missiles and drones. Basically, Biden's position is that it was okay for Iran to attack Israel but they shouldn't respond. He also said, as we reported, that the US wouldn't participate in any offensive action.

Now it's being reported that that the call stopped a retaliatory strike, at least for the moment.

Israel's decision to retaliate early Sunday morning against Iran's massive attack was halted after a phone call between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Joe Biden. US officials considered Israel's interception of more than 300 drones and missiles as a significant strategic victory that should not necessitate further retaliation, The New York Times reported, citing US officials.

The Biden administration advised Israel to exercise caution and avoid further escalation in the Middle East following its successful defense against Iranian airstrikes. [....]

A retaliatory strike initially proposed by cabinet members was called off following a phone call between Netanyahu and Biden on Saturday. This decision came in light of the relatively minor damage caused by Iran’s attacks. The specifics of the conversation between Biden and Netanyahu were not disclosed by officials.

Israel's war cabinet still met to consider a response. Reportedly, there's a split on the timing and the proportion of the proposed action, but the majority favors a response.

The five-member cabinet, in which Benjamin Netanyahu, defence minister Yoav Gallant and cabinet minister Benny Gantz have decision-making powers, met earlier today to discuss the attack - which saw over 330 missiles and drones fired at Israel. This echoes what an Israeli source indicated earlier - that the war cabinet had decided it would respond to Iran’s attack, but no final decisions have been made on the detail. "It is clear Israel will respond, the question is when and at what scale," an Israeli official told our partner network NBC News

One of the war cabinet ministers, Benny Gantz, said they would exact a price from Iran.

So, we shall have to see what the response is. But it doesn't sound like Biden was fully able to stop a response.

Israel should sink the spy ship setting in the Red Sea and totally level the Jask Oil Terminal into non existence! Not to leave out ridding Iran of the ayatollahs and the government there of.
