I just checked @ 4:19 pm. Realized my phone has been dead, (out of charge) probably for two days. I wonder why my children thought I had to have a smart phone. Being a devout Luddite I h**e any machine that is smarter or faster than me.

Personally, I don't have a smart phone, work at home. We pay for four phones already and I have a landline. I don't like the idea of " it " knowing where I am, nor do I wish to walk around with my eyes glued to a screen. I have a tablet, stays on my kitchen table. So I knew nothing about this till during a coffee break, saw it on my instagram. The left seems to be up in arms about the whole thing, we've invited these tracking devices into our lives . Were I to have a phone, I would have no problem with Trump knowing where I was, dont feel a sinister threat as I did with Obama.

Homophobia, a tool of the right

Homosexuality goes against God and nature. So us homophobes, who also recoil at the sight of a dog mounting grandmas leg are the
sane ones here. Homosexuality is a abberation and a mental illness, yet we have allowed them to take the stage and proclaim our
discomfort with it to be mental illness. As mentally ill they should be treated with kindness, but not celebrated. We have allowed them
establish that which is bad, as good and visa versa on so many issues, for so long, the lines have blurred, so we can no longer say for sure what we believe.

Lost Words from our childhood: Words gone as fast as the buggy whip! Sad really!
The other day a not so elderly lady said something to her son about driving a Jalopy and he looked at her quizzically and said "What the heck is a Jalopy?"
OMG (new phrase)!
He never heard of the word jalopy!! She knew she was old.... but not that old.

Well, I hope you are Hunky Dory after you read this and chuckle.
About a month ago, I illuminated some old expressions that have become obsolete because of the inexorable march of technology.
These phrases included "Don't touch that dial," "Carbon copy," "You sound like a broken record" and "Hung out to dry."
Back in the olden days we had a lot of 'moxie.' We'd put on our best 'bib and tucker' to' straighten up and fly right'.

We were 'in like Flynn' and 'living the life of Riley''.

Or, This is a 'fine kettle of fish'!
We discover that the words we grew up with, the words that seemed omnipresent, as oxygen, have vanished with scarcely a notice from our tongues and our pens and our keyboards.
Poof, go the words of our youth, the words we've left behind
We blink, and they're gone. Where have all those great phrases gone?
Long gone: Pshaw, The milkman did it. Hey! It's your nickel..
Don't forget to pull the chain. Knee high to a grasshopper. Well, Fiddlesticks! Going like sixty.

I'll see you in the funny papers. Don't take any wooden nickels. Wake up and smell the roses.
It turns out there are more of these lost words and expressions than Carter has liver pills.
This can be disturbing stuff! ("Carter's Little Liver Pills" are gone too!)

We of a certain age have been blessed to live in changeable times. For a child, each new word is like a shiny toy, a toy that has no age. We at the other end of the chronological arc have the advantage of remembering there are words that once existed ........and there were words that once strutted their hour upon the earthly stage and now are heard no more, except in our collective memory.

It's one of the greatest advantages of aging.

Romans 1:18-32
Unbelief and Its Consequences

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the t***h in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.

Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the t***h of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, h**ers of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.

Maybe set up DNA test facilities at or near the border to test all i******s at the border and their supposed children. Those that match are joined with their parents and those that don't match the parents are sent back to wh**ever country they are from along with the supposed parents.

Paternity testing can be done in one to two days so if there were labs set up at the border we should be able to test and get results in one to two days and then ship them back to where they came from.

You know, in the US, breaking the law, with kids in tow, endangering them, will land your kids in foster care. Once this happens, it would be a struggle to get them back, a struggle only a real parent would undertake. These poor children of criminals, are safer without them. They are being used in much the same way that a junkie mother will keep having babies to ensure her monthly assistence, without a thought for the child. As long as we keep rewarding this behavior, the problem will continue to grow. These border babies are effectively orphans as soon as their parents choose to use them in this way, and the responsibility rests squarely on their shoulders. So much energy, so many lives wasted trying to get to America, why not channel all this into bringing America there. Simplistic yes, but its not like they lack the manpower.

I know i did a lot of whining last summer when my two great but old dogs went to their reward.

Now after at least 30 years, I am without any dog at all.

The young useless but loving lab we had remaining, was visited by a couple friends every day..

One of the useless mutts, likes to run and he lured our fine dog to go with him a few days ago.

We put a plea on radio and asked around the area for help finding both dogs..

they turned up half way around the lake in someones swimming pool. the owners were not home.

With only about 2 ft of water in the pool, the dogs could not get out..

A good man got them out and returned both dogs.

the dogs stunk from the putrid water in the pool..

Day 2 of the returne our dog got a little sick.. got much sicker each day. 4 days later he died on his way to the vet..

Very next day a TV new story ran about toxic algae found in stagnant water this year.. A bit unusual..

The vet called about this and was quite sure that was what k**led our find dog..

So, I wish to warn you all, this algae is not so common but can be anywhere in the nation..

Do not let your pets into any stagnant pool, they could also lose their life..

And for sure do not let any child play or wade in this sort of pond.. some kids will love to do that..

It could k**l a child... that is not an overstatement..

Much as I miss my dog the reason for this post is about any child who may want to play in those spring ponds, now containing algae..

be very cautious..

Wow, not sure it related, but I have an old ornamental pool, has gone to the frogs ect. As soon as the ice melts they lay their eggs and I,
not being a k**ler of frogs can do little but run fresh water into it. Anyway we also had a growing colony of yellow spotted salamanders, the big black ones with yellow spots. I enjoy seeing them every spring as they are reclusive otherwise. One day I went out, they were all dead, 18 of them. I was very sad , thought maybe it was the erratic weather. Do you have a name on this algae? Sorry about your loss.

This is an uncomfortable topic, but believe it boils down to both parties using what they have, he weath and power, her, sexual attractiveness to get what they want. Its a dangerous game to play, as usually one feels they put out more then they got. So ultimately they are both dumb adults, who if they had any dignity, would keep this crap in the closet, so I wouldnt have to hear about it. This bears no relation to actual rape, or abuse of children. Punishment for both parties, they should be put in the stockade and pelted with rotten food, for at least a week, for wasting our time. Shame, neither party should escape this very instructive growth opportunity.

Memorial Day and Reflections of Hope

Friday, May 25, 2018

Over the Memorial Day weekend, many will have the opportunity to spend time with friends and family on several occasions. As we come together, we should thank the Lord for those who gave their lives that we might be free. We should also recognize that the world in which we live, that the nation where we are citizens, is far different from what it was even 30 years ago. We as a nation have fast accelerated into a humanistic mindset where not much that is time honored or traditional is celebrated. The young men who I coached in football always were fascinated by some of our old timer stories about participating in Memorial Day parades when we were kids, ending at the local cemetery.

There, the graves of who served in the military were decorated with wreaths or f**gs, followed by a sermon and prayer for our nation and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Local Memorial Day services nowadays are often not well publicized. We may not know about them. What we do know about are the freedoms we have lost in the past generation--freedoms that were taken away not by some foreign force, but by the government itself. As we view the Bill of Rights through the headlines, we see that the government--those who we elected--are working to undermine these rights that were held by the Founders as "self evident" endowed by our "Creator" with a capital "C," meaning God Almighty.

My son Christian and I often discuss these things. He says that "progressives" (that's what they are politely called in his college classes) care little about the history of our nation because they believe that mankind is always progressing beyond the past. He says they fail to recognize the mistakes made in history and the knowledge and wisdom that comes from learning about those mistakes. That, he says, is what makes them prone to making unwise and bad decisions. He says that they see the Word of God as fable and reject the foundational principles of God's law and the law of nature's God. It is his generation's way of explaining why our nation is in the mess that it is in.

He believes there is hope in his generation, although he admits that Christian values are diminishing within it. I believe there is hope, too. The Bible says a lot about hope. One of my favorites is Romans 5:1-5, "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation works patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope makes not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who is given unto us." Don't let anyone steal your hope, your faith, or your will to stand on them.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

In most cases it will take a calamity of a large magnitude to make some really evaluate the path that they are now on and then change directions. In my life I have had few that came to me and want to know the t***h and to change their path and they were usually when they were facing death or what they perceived as death.

And what a blessing when we realize we are not just a random group of cells, but were created specifically by God for His purposes. The sting of death and guilt are lifted. The seeming futility of our existence is expelled, when we become sons and daughters of God. Why stand in that cold dark place?
