Tesla Model Y Owner Says His Car Trapped Him Inside on Hot Arizona Summer Day When Battery Died

By Jack Davis, Western Journal
August 7, 2023 at 1:27pm

An Arizona man said his Tesla Model Y became a hot box when the power died.

“It’s definitely a safety concern; it was one of the hotter days,” Rick Meggison, 73, of Peoria told KNXV-TV.

The incident took place on a 100-degree day in June and left him unable to get out of his car for about 20 minutes while it was in his garage, he said.

“I couldn’t open the doors. I couldn’t lower the windows. The computer was dead, so I couldn’t open the glove box. I couldn’t open anything,” Meggison said.

“Being caught in there for a couple hours could be dangerous,” he said.

His sister eventually was able to open the passenger door through the Tesla app, but the window cracked in the process.

“I think that Tesla needs to address this,” Meggison said.

Car safety expert Norma Hubele called the vehicle “essentially a computer on wheels that’s run on a battery.”

“If that battery is not reliable or if for some reason the consumer isn’t aware of how to override a problem with the battery, then you can have real safety problems,” Hubele, founder of TheAutoProfessor.com, told KNXV.

Do you think Teslas are safe?
Yes: 17% (1 V**es)
No: 83% (5 V**es)
Firefighter and paramedic Paul Shoemaker said there is a manual way to exit but added, “There’s not enough knowledge about it.”

A manual release latch for the driver’s door is located underneath the handle, but accessing the manual release for the passenger door requires the removal of a mat from the rear door pocket.

“Not all Model Y vehicles are equipped with a manual release for the rear doors,” the Tesla manual warns.

In December, Insider wrote of a similar incident involving a British Tesla owner.

Tom Exton said the Model Y lost power, and although he used the mechanical latch to escape, he broke a window in the process.

In April, a woman in Coburg, Oregon, had a similar situation in her Tesla Type 3 on a 38-degree day, according to KEZI-TV.

Capt. Rick McPherson of the Coburg Rural Fire District said the woman dealt with the near-freezing weather by lighting a candle on the dashboard.

McPherson said the woman did not know about the manual latch release, but rescuers talked to her about it and she was able to exit the Tesla.

It's Class war at its best.

The folks who are getting the free stuff don't like the folks who are paying for the free stuff, because the folks who are paying for the free stuff can no longer afford to pay for both the free stuff and their own stuff.
Consequently, the folks who are paying for the free stuff want the free stuff to stop.

And the folks who are getting the free stuff want even more free stuff on top of the free stuff they are already getting!

Now... The people who are forcing the people who pay for the free stuff have told the people who are RECEIVING
the free stuff that the people who are PAYING for the free stuff are being mean, prejudiced, and r****t.

So... The people who are GETTING the free stuff have been convinced they need to h**e the people who are paying for the free stuff by the people who are forcing some people to pay for their free stuff and giving them the free stuff in the first place.

We have let the free stuff giving go on for so long that there are now more people getting free stuff than paying for the free stuff.

Now understand this......All great democracies have committed financial suicide somewhere between 200 and 250 years after being founded.
The reason?

The v**ers figured out they could v**e themselves money from the treasury by electing people who promised to give them money from the treasury in exchange for electing them.

The United States officially became a Republic in 1776, 243 years ago.

The number of people now getting free stuff outnumbers the people paying for the free stuff.

Failure to change that spells the end of the United States as we know it.

China Proposes Stricter Restrictions on Children’s Screen Time

Editor: Vincent Chow.

The new rules apply to a wide range of smart devices, rather than just individual apps.

China’s cyberspace watchdog rolled out new draft rules Wednesday as part of efforts to expand control over content and time being spent online by minors.

Online addiction is a significant problem among China’s minors, and has been blamed for eyesight and academic issues. In recent years, authorities and tech platforms have introduced “teenager modes” to curb these problems for the most popular short video and gaming apps. But parents have complained that these settings are too easy for their children to bypass.

Unlike previous regulatory efforts targeting individual apps, the draft rules require the implementation of “minor modes,” a change in terminology from the previous “teenager mode,” across a wide range of smart devices, including smart watches designed for children and early childhood education devices.

The Cyberspace Administration of China is seeking public comment for the draft rules until Sept. 2.

Under “minor mode,” the time spent online will be limited according to age, with minors under 8 limited to 40 minutes online, minors between 8 and 16 limited to an hour, and two hours for those between 16 and 18. They will also be prohibited from using mobile devices between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., although parents may override these settings.

The rules also require online platforms to promote content such as educational news and popular science to minors under 16, and motivational content for teenagers as they approach 18.

The proposed rules address the problems faced by parents such as Sun Jieqiong, a stay-at-home mom in the northeastern Heilongjiang province, in controlling their children’s screen time. Sun’s 12-year-old son has his own tablet for online learning, but she finds it difficult to control the content he sees even in “teenager mode.”

“Teenager mode in individual apps is easy to hack into by logging into a different account or re-downloading the app,” she told Sixth Tone.

The draft rules have received mixed reactions online, with users on microblogging platform Weibo expressing practical concerns. “What should I do if I can’t call the police after encountering a stalker at night because my phone is locked?” commented one Weibo user.

China’s minors are more connected than ever. According to the China Internet Network Information Center, 191 million internet users in China were aged between 6 and 18 in 2021, representing 96.8% of that age group.

STOP A CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION
DON’T BE CONNED INTO AN ARTICLE V CONVENTION
JBS-JOHN EIDSMOE-7/2023—PRINTED OFF ON 8/3/23
A Constitutional Convention is an official meeting of representatives of the people of a state or nation for the purpose of writing or amending its constitution. Article V of the U.S. Constitution provides two ways to propose amendments:
1. Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose amendments;
2. Congress, on the application of the legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a convention for proposing amendments.
The first method has been used 27 times; the second method has never been used. Any proposed amendments would have to be ratified by three fourths of the states before being added to the Constitution. An Article V Constitutional Convention would threaten individual rights and our nation’s very form of government. Individual rights are secured by the Constitution, and a Con-Con would have the inherent power to become a “runaway” convention that could completely change the Constitution. How do we know such a convention could become a “runaway”?
1. There’s the precedent of the Philadelphia Convention of 1787, which completely rewrote the Articles of Confederation and changed the ratification procedure; and
2. There’s the right of the sovereign people meeting in convention to alter or abolish their form of government (as stated in the Declaration of Independence), which could include rewriting the Constitution and changing the ratification procedure.

Learning From History: What Happened in 1787?
The preceding Annapolis Convention of 1786 recommended a convention with delegates from all 13 states to devise changes to the then-government Articles of Confederation, the first constitution of the United States prior to the current Constitution. These revisions, or changes, to the Articles of Confederation, would need to be agreed to by Congress Assembled (the Congress under the Articles of Confederation) and then be “afterwards confirmed by the legislatures of every state” as required by Article XIII of the Articles of Confederation. Early in 1787 Congress issued a resolution recommending that a convention be held at Philadelphia to “render the federal constitution adequate to the exigencies of Government.” Likewise, the commissions of all 12 states (Rhode Island chose not to participate) instructed their state’s delegate to render the federal constitution to exigencies (or to meet the urgent crisis) of the government. All 12 commissions and a letter from the government of Rhode Island reminded the delegates that wh**ever came forth from the convention had to be confirmed by the legislatures of every state, in accordance to Article XIII.
Instead of simply revising or amending the Articles of Confederation, delegates at the Philadelphia Convention of 1787 replaced them with an entirely new Constitution. The newly proposed Constitution established a more national form of government as opposed to the strictly federal government that existed under the Articles of Confederation. Justifying these changes not authorized by their state commissions, Edmund Randolph, a delegate from Virginia, urged fellow delegates: “[t]here are great seasons when persons with limited powers are justified in exceeding them, and a person would be contemptible not to risk it.” And rather than adhering to the Article XIII requirement that any alternations would have to be “confirmed by the legislatures of every State,” the newly drafted Constitution would be ratified in accordance to its own mode of ratification found in Article VII.
On September 13, 1788, with only 11 of the 13 states having ratified the new Constitution, the Continental Congress passed a resolution declaring that it “had been ratified.” North Carolina and Rhode Island had not yet ratified and would not do so until nearly a year and a half later. On May 29, 1790, Rhode Island became the 13th state to ratify the Constitution.
What was originally a “limited” convention for the “sole and express purposes of revising the Articles of Confederation” had t***sformed into a runaway convention producing an entirely brand new Constitution. With such clear precedent, who is to say it will not happen again?

We all heard the J** 6th committee and all the good people who were willing to testify under oath and they were all Trumps inner circle of people. It was all aides that were in the room while the i**********n took place and Trump did nothing.

We all seen the pictures of classified documents that were held at Trumps estate and Trump said right from the beginning that he did not have them. If Trump just said come and get them, this so called weaponized government would not have to spend millions of dollars to gain evidence that he did have this nations classified documents. But the FBI had to gain enough evidence in order to go to a judge and obtain a legal search warrant. And we all seen what he was hiding at his estate. Then Trump wanted the American people to believe that the FBI loaded up over 60 boxes and planted them At his estate. Strange thing there are a large number of people who believe Trump.

Trump is now facing a legal lawsuit from the police who received injuries during the i**********n. You can’t deny the video of of these people beating c*****l p****e with f**g polls while Trump watched it on TV and did nothing for 4 hours.
